Dive: a jump or plunge into water, esp. in a prescribed way from a diving board.

But I'm done. I honestly thought you were trying to be funny when you started all this. You're probably a really cool person in real life, so no point thinking you're a douche while continuing to argue with you over such a stupid thing.

Dont worry dude, you have a greater statistical probability of being hit by lightning or eaten by a shark than being in a terrorist attack. In fact, since you live in Houston, you have have a greater chance of being hit by lightning WHILE being eaten by a shark than being killed by terrorists.

Tragic story, I bet it wont show up in the Chronic. I sorta respect them for it, however.

I actually started that "Suicide at the Hyatt" thread as it happened as I was leaving my job. (I work next door at CNP.

DETAILS: If you've ever been to the Hyatt, you know there's a 31-story atrium. Dude did NOT jump in the center. If youre walking the skybridge, right befor you leave the hotel above Shula's (before the salon) there is also a smaller 31-story atrium. Dude jumped from that top hall balcony on the 31st floor, his leg hit the railing of the skybridge and landed in the skybridge hall. The body crashed down below into Shulas.

If you've walked this area (where his leg landed) youve noticed the Hyatt had the carpet cleaned several times, but it still smelled horrid. They also had to replace some sheetrock and eventually replaced the carpet.

To the poster who knew someone that worked in the Hyatt Salon.....they had a front row seat to this suicide as there salon is only a few feet away due south.

His body (the majority of it) actually landed in Shula's? I've never been to the hotel so I don't know the layout. Is the Shula's at the bottom of this smaller atrium without any kind of celing?

just out of curiosity, what is the scientific reason for death resulting from jumping off of a high place? I mean, I know this sounds incredibly stupid, but I always wondered, is it fatal Head/neck injury? or is it maybe a spine thing, idk, but one would think that only broken bones would ensue, maybe paralysis, but why death?
