    Boki sighting in the Chronicle:

    http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/sports/2959489

Charlie Ward returned to practice Tuesday for the first time since going on the injured list Nov. 27 with a bruised right knee. Ward started 16 games before he was hurt, but Rockets coach Jeff Van Gundy said he has not decided when Ward will return to the active roster.

Bob Sura took over as starting point guard on Dec. 2. The Rockets also have Tyronn Lue and Andre Barrett on their 12-man roster.

"I would like to get both (Ward) and Boki ( Bostjan Nachbar) back on the active roster, but again we have a roster glut right now," Van Gundy said.

Nachbar has been on the injured list since Dec. 6 with inflammation in his left foot.

I ain't seen anything that would cause me to believe that Van Gundy wants anything to do with having Boki on the active roster.

Well when Boki recovers from his injury I expect him to come back with a vengeance!

JVG needs to put ABarett or RBowen on the IL to make room for Boki.

People who think Boki sucks need to wake up. He is having a hard time finding playing time under JVG because he is not a lock down defender and overplays his opponents causing him to look foul prone.

IMO Boki is over anxious when he gets into the game because his PT is so inconsistent. Our current tempo is ideal for someone like Boki who can run up and down the court and finish with either hand. Step back take the 3pt shot or ram it down someone's throat.

Boki needs to do the following.

Dont foul - get in their face but dont overplay your opponent. I think Boki feels the only way to get PT is to be a tough defender. I would take a decent defender for now.
Open Shot - He needs to take the open shots.. If he is open and its a good look take the shot some of this will come when he regains his confidence. If we can get Boki to play at the level he is comfortable I feel he can become an invaluable asset to this team.

He has all the tools (especially the height) to be a very nice player in the league.. he can dribble, quick first step, nice outside shot, finish with either hand.

He is lacking confidence right now and sporatic PT only makes it worse.. I definitely see Boki as our SF of the future and hope he can grow into the role. Its too bad he is behind JJ/Bowen and doesnt get to showcase what he can do.

    One word: Eddie Griffin!

Next year another team (Denver?) is going to laugh their ass off for letting Boki go with nothing. This BBS will then be littered with posts like "JVG should be fired right now for letting Boki go!" everytime Boki hits a three-pointer on another team.

I have no idea why Boki is getting rotten on the bench. His is atheltic, can rebound, has a good handle, and good 3-point shooting, even and drive to the basket, everything Rockets current team need right now. His only downsize is that he tends to get overly aggressive on defense and draw these silly fouls. But how is he going to improve sitting on the bench. I think that downside is easy to correct with some playtime and more confidence.

Eddie Griffin was acutally a decent contributer when he played. Since he was effective, we didn't ever stuff Griffin on the bench. The comparison doesn't make sense. Boki has contributed next to nothing.

Boki is getting rotten on the bench because he can't shoot, he's slow, and he can't guard his man. He isn't overly aggressive on defense, he's too slow. He also looks pretty confused out there also.

He has occasionally slashed to the basket, but he has probably blown about 70% of his layup attempts because he lacks explosiveness. He seems to get a decent amount of rebounds for a guard, I'll give you that. He also has some good basketball instincts, but then again so do I and Jeff Van Gundy is not going to bring me in for significant minutes anytime soon.

    Here's a new one-

How about he's dead last on the team in plus/minus statistics?

DaDa- Still waiting on the 15 point game...though he did grab 8 rebounds in a game once last year!

Yeah. And if we keep him on the IL, that stat is sure gonna improve isn't it?

We're 6-2 since he went to the IR. What exactly is the problem? You'd think we were 2-6 without him.

When Griffin played for Rockets, he was no way near as effective as he is now on the T-wolves. When he was let go, people didn't think this team lost much. How about trying to develope a young player for change? I am talking about both JVG and RudyT. Sure we don't look bad for benching Boki right now because he isn't contributing much. But I am possitive Rockets will look stupid again when Boki blossom in another team when he gets chance to play.

BTW, JJ/Howard/Spoon/Tayler/Chard are slow. Boki is anything but slow.

And Boki's now activated per the other thread. Now let's see him actually contribute!
