Besides Yolanda and Ticha being hurt, as Pipe said, Edna Campbell (starting SF last year) is out for the season with breast cancer. Also, Kara Wolters was injured early in the year. That really hurt, because at least she's big (6'7", 225) and has good offense, and with Yo out we had no real center at all. Tangela Smith is 6'4", but she's not a center, she's a 4. Lastly, in the Monarchs' only non-injury-related tragedy, they lost both back up points (Blodgett, Clinesmith) and aquired Andrea Nage, who pretty much sucks. So that's 3 of our starters and a backup center injured. No wonder the Monarchs suck this year.
I've actually heard a worse rumor Swoopes from someone very close to the UT basketball programs. It has to do with a woman exercising her right to choose.
Outlaw, Here it is again...why should this even be news...who cares what someone's sexual preference is. I just don't get it. DaDakota
Rm95, Yep he did.....I just don't agree totally. To me it is a non issue, we spend too much time on trivial things, when we should be spending time playing Video games and visiting Swirve.com. I just don't get it. DaDakota
I understand, I just didn't understand you asking again when he just explained it yesterday. I agree that in a perfect world this shouldn't be an issue. Now go sign up at www.onlytheissues.com
Outlaw, with the turnover on the board/new members, you could have a coming out post every couple months and it would still be a story. Maybe just put it on your signature line and you wouldn't have to explain it anymore.
Notice OUTlaw didn't mention interest in Sue Bird!! OUT law do you "Hang out" at the "Male Box?" HA HA HA I wouldn't mind watching Bird chew some carpet!!
Are you saying Swoopes had an abortion? I don't think so. The person that told me again reinerated that most girls bball players and coach were lesbians at UT and Sheryl was uncomfortable with it. Sheryl was also upset that the coach was watching and didn't try to stop this one particular incident- a late night hazing- on the team van. The next day her bags were packed. Do you really think that someone would believe a freshman at a big "well respected" university if she tried telling someone? When she told Sharp, the coach, she wanted out, Sharp knew that Swoopes would tell all about what happened and had to release her without any questions. This now why she is more hestitant to "hangout" with some of her teammates. It took her a couple years to become friends off the court with TThompson.
I've heard that about the UT women's team... not only the Swoopes story. A good friend of mine in college had a friend from home who started out at UT and then decided to play for another university - same reason. This was in the mid-90's, a little later. Don't know where things stand now at UT.
