Maybe some of you don't remember, but Charles should have a grudge against the Rockets.

Hakeem and the Rockets broke his heart and humiliated him two years in a row in the playoffs on the way to 2 championships. He even broke down and told the media he was going to retire, both times.

Then, he joined the team to try to win a championship himself with Dream, and didn't.

    He's pissed. :D

    Kenny, on the other hand...

This is a pretty stupid comment. The Rockets without Yao will be underdogs in the playoffs nomatter who they face. So it wouldn't be that shocking to anyone if the Rockets don't make it pased the first round. It would be like me laughing at Barkley because he's fat

I'm beginning to forget that he was once member of this Rocket team. Such a loser! :(

Gotta love it when the members circa 2002 and 2006 start calling out guys from the 90s. Brings back memories....

Seriously though, while I think AntiSonic is defending my man Barkley a little too much, you can't blame him for laying out the fact that until T-Mac takes the next step (getting to the 2nd round), he is deserved of any and all criticism he gets for not ever getting out of the 1st round.

I watched the opening of the program from before the Cavs game, and then everything before and after the Rox game. Unless they said anything else about the Rockets during halftime of the Cavs game, I think I saw everything pertaining to Houston last night on the broadcast.

And right off the bat, those two genetic defects were dogging the Rockets and TMac. Now it's not like it's unexpected that they would do this, as it is pretty common knowledge that they both have some kind of axe to grind against Les and this franchise, but what is so annoying about it is that they are either incredibly bad at their jobs, or they are just flat-out liars.

If they actually believe what they say, then that means that they do ZERO preparation for their jobs, and have ZERO actual knowledge to support anything they say. The alternative is that they know full well that what they are saying is a load of ridiculous horse-hockey, but they say ti anyway, either in an attempt at being 'provocative', or because they cannot help themselves, given their obvious dislike of the franchise and its owner.

    Which would make them liars.

This became most obvious when watching Kenny try to stammer his way through his 'explanation' of how Yao 'makes everyone around him better because he commands double-teams', while TMac getting constantly double-teamed does not, because his touches are 'on the perimeter', thus making it harder for himself and his teammates.

All I could think while listening to this moronic drivel was 'Uhhhh... Kenny? Uhhhhmmmm, I think there may be a few POINT GUARDS who play on the perimeter who habitually make their teammates' jobs easier, while still amazingly NOT being 7'6" and planted in the paint..'

I think what it boils down to is this: during the 30 minutes or so of show-prep these guys did before last night's pair of games, they decided upon the 'theme' of their discussion about TMac and the Rockets, which was, 'TMac is a 'ballstopper' (??) who does not make his teammates better, they did not beat anyone good during their streak (??), they are the same as Portland as far as the amount of respect they deserve, because Portland had a decent streak and then fell off, Dallas is a 'better team' even without Dirk, and ultimately any notion of considering the Rockets as being a legit contender is unthinkable, because Yao is out.

Of course this was all predicated on Dallas winning the game.

Once the Rockets thrashed the Mavs in a game which was not even as close as the final score would indicate, we saw their true inability to actually 'think on their feet' and adapt to the changing circumstances. Kenny was unable to remove himself from his show-prep dogma, and Chuckstradumbass (you KNOW that is what they would have called that pic if they could have gotten away with it LOL) simply sulked.

TMac and the Rockets made them look stupid, pure and simple. And it's pretty clear that the people they work with (Ernie, and the producers off-camera, and whoever else) also must think they are stupid clowns. Ernie, in particular, was really enjoying making Chuck squirm at every opportunity.

From the opening of the show, I said to myself, 'Oh how I wish TMac could have heard those two dogging on him and the Rockets! That would really set him off!' And then when they mentioned that TMac HAD heard it, and WAS annoyed, oh wow. And getting to see TMac put the smackdown on that lardbucket in the postgame interview.. Wow. Just wow. Have to give props to TMac for being as cool about it as he was.. heheh

So all in all, it was a VERY satisfying evening of television... ;)

Oh yeah, I wanted to give special props to the broadcast guys during the game. Every single one of them were making fun of Charles throughout the game, especially Fratello and Reggie Miller. It was SO clear that Reggie thinks Chuck is a dumbass too.. :D

^Good post... pretty close to my sentiments. I would only add there was a period early in the season when Tmac was taking to many jumpers and if you watched one of those games then maybe you would come to the conclusion Tmac was a ballstopper. Since Tmac's return he has been anything but. He seems to know more than ever when the right time to shoot is. He sees the floor better than anyone else on the team and makes great passes for easy basket half a dozen times a game. He still sometimes misses a shot but that doesn't make him a ballstopper anymore than when Kidd misses. So to surmise Tmac is probably right Barkley doesn't watch the games or at least hasn't watched any of the Rockets games lately.

    How true Nero.

That's why TNT is awesome to watch. :D

The TNT crew is brilliant enough to create the Chuckstradumbass clip to bring balance back to the universe.

    Cupcake Chuckstradumbass ... too funny.

I have been a Rockets fan since before Yao Ming was born. Clutchfans membership has nothing to do with anyone's fandom.

AntiSonic's comment renders him not a PRESENT Rockets fan imo because it shows that he cares about making TMac look worse than Barkley than about the Rockets winning.

Yeah except I don't think it will be out like a b****. But how can it NOT be out like a b**** when it's 0-7 for your career? I'm so depressed about losing Yao now even in the midst of keeping the streak alive... :(

I think Barkley will sympathize with McGrady if he drops out of the first round again. Barkley may say stupid sht and be an ******* but he does give players props (for the most part) at the end of the season because he knows how it feels.

Kenny Smith, on the other hand, doesn't know *****. What do you want T-Mac to say on national TV interview?

"No I don't believe we can be a championship team without Yao so I'm going to give up on this season probably get bounced out of the first round again and just go home and collect my $20mil."

Of course not! He's going to say "Yeah we have a shot" or "Yeah I believe in this team"...
