Hmm, I kinda skimmed through the whole thread and nobody's mentioned $5 for a footlong from Subway right now even with those crazy commercials going on  It is a way better deal than the other places right now.

I think Quizno's is the best tasting (Turkey Bacon Guacamole) though a chipotle cheesesteak at Jersey Mike's is darn good if you're ok with the fat content.

$5.00 is not a good deal. It seems "fair" only because they normally charge like $7+ for a bland sandwich with hardly any meat and tons of unfresh vegetables that have no flavor.

I'd rather 1) make my own sandwich. 2) get a burrito/vietnamese sandwich/burger/ or teriyaki 3) Pay more and get a decent sandwich.

I heard said of Blimpies once: "Great if you like chewing on cardboard." That about sums it up. Like a drier version of Subway. Both are bad. People just went there because they could get a cheap student deal.

Some people were asking about grocery store deli sandwiches. I have the best luck with Super Target - good stuff and not too expensive. The HEB ones in the cold case seem overpriced. However, if they have the grilled panini thing set up in the food service area, try one.

What about ThunderCloud Subs? I've never actually seen anyone go into that store.

For some reason, this post stuck out in my head. I'm having my second Which Wich ever as we speak. Phe****inomenal. Crab melt with spicy mayo, pepper jack and grilled onions. Yum!

Schlotsky's is probably the best chain restaurant out there for sandwiches.

My favorites are the "Wreck" at Potbelly's and the Italian at Lenny's. Lenny's and Jersey Mike's are very similar, except that Lenny's has that hot relish so they win in my opinion. Which Wich is awesome if you are looking for variety as they have just about every condiment you can imagine. The classic italian at Quizno's is pretty good, but I don't think it's on the level of the others I listed.

I only go to Subway if it's close and I'm looking to eat cheap. Otherwise I think it's the worst of the sandwich chains.

Ive had which wich twice and im not impressed? I even ordered extra meat and it still didnt meet my meat requirements. its a smaller sized bun too so overall its a smaller less meatier sandwich than say quiznos or firehouse. maybe i just dont know how to order there

If you want a lot of meat, go to Jason's Deli.

You must not live in Austin. They are very popular at lunch.

Murphy's Deli, Quiznos, and Jersey Mikes are overpriced.

Subway is great right now for the $5 footlong deal.

I like sandwiches from Krogers deli. The only problem is that they take forever to make em. I always grab the ready made turkey and swiss sandwiches.

Never been to the Firehouse or Potbelly.

I didnt know they had a thundercloud here in houston but its decent.

Panera Bread makes some good sandwiches.

I would have to say Jimmy Johns is pretty darn good.

Charlies makes a really good philly. Usually only find them at the mall.

Anyone ever try Earl of Sandwich?

My favorite would have to be Zitos but thats only in San Antonio. If You guys ever go you should try their signature sandwich "The Serious" Best Sandwich ever!

I had the Honey Bourbon Chicken sandwich at Quizno's, and it sucks.

I think where Quiznos fails is that they dont have as many different ingredients that you can choose from. And it seems to me that their ingredients are cheaper than Subways, though I could be wrong.
