I used to get subs from grocery stores a lot, the quality is really good but they always seemed to be really slow.
Hate my husband not me! Those were his birthday present, not mine. Looks like we might be getting back some money on the 4th game tickets. cry cry cry
If this was actually in the same realm as Subway, Quizno's and Firehouse it would by far be #1 on my list. I don't doubt my last meal would be a Freeibirds burrito. Anyway, back on topic. My range varies, it really depends. If I want healthy then I go to Subway, if I want good I go to Quizno's, I've never been to Firehouse. My new favorite has become Potbelly's. They're cheap (I think it's $4.79 for a sandwich) and have a nice variety. I usually get the wreck salad for $5.69 (I may be a few cents off) and it is great! One time I picked up Panda Express then saw Potbelly. I went over there, got a salad and saved it for the next day! Freebirds >>>>>>> anything (yes it's my favorite place), but since we're talking about sandwiches/subs....Potbelly>>>Subway>Quizno's. I'm thinking I'd really like Firehouse, but I've never been. Is there one near Fountainview and 59? Or is that a saloon? Pugs
When I was in school in Austin I worked at a sub shop called Mr. Goodcents I thought by far it was the best subs in Austin. To bad it is not there anymore. They had a crappy location off Riverside Dr. next to the movie theater. I do believe that it is a chain in the midwest though. I see there ads at KU basketball games all the time. They were priced just like subway expect that everything was sliced in front of you and the half sub was 9 inches.
Potbelly's and WhichWich are very very similar - I think Potbelly's came first although WhichWich has a greater variety.
I second jersey mike's best sandwiches around...it's a tad expensive but just sooo good. get the club sub and have it mike's way. the bacon there is soo crispy...mmmmmm
Victor's Deli on FM 1960 between Stuebner-Airline and Greenwood Drive (closer to Stuebner). Expensive, but the best Corned Beef and Chopped Liver sandwiches anywhere. Excellent pastrami, turkey, reuben, rachel sandwiches.
My favorite sub place a wierd one, but a Port Arthur classic. It's a deli called Amuny's deli that's in the back of Amuny's liquor store. They have the best sub bread that I've ever had.
No. Jason's is no longer an honorable mention; they're getting rid of Dublin Dr. Pepper. Screw them! Now I have to get it shipped to me? FREAKING LAME. And if you don't know what Dublin Dr. Pepper is... http://www.dublindrpepper.com/ It is TOTALLY different from regular Dr. Pepper. I actually can't stand regular Dr. Pepper. But Dublin? Oh yeah.
For taste, I like Firehouse, but it's expensive...for price, you guessed it, it's subway..I tend to pic price vs. anything else...of course, if I have lunchmeat at home, I'll eat at home because its cheaper...
Well that's a given. there was a thread talking about freebird's greatness a while back. btw im going this weekend and going to try to down the Super MOnster.
Agree'd. Sure you get some veggies if you load it up, but sodium laced processed lunch meat and enough bread to wreck your colon isn't exactly healthy.
Super Monster = 2 whole meals for me! Holy Schnikeys! Back to the subject, I'd have to go with Which Wich. A bunch of locations just opened up fairly close to my house, so it's earning more points with me as of late.
