hahahaha i went and bought some whataburger after i dropped your brother off. Honey BBQ Chicken Strip Sandwich
I'm a vegetarian, and I can't stand Subway. Whenever I order there, I just get a wrap. I like Lenny's, personally. I order their sub plus a bag of jalapeno chips. Very satisfying.
Out of the ones I know, definitely Lenny's. Unfortunately they don't have them here. I will try Which Wich after reading this thread about it. Quizno's is decent quality, but expensive and a smaller sandwich. (prefer the chicken carbonara) But they all >>>> Subway. Who cares whether you consider Subway cheap or expensive, since it's nothing but a pile of bad bread with soggy lettuce in the center (and some minuscule amount of meat hiding away somewhere).
Anybody like the Deli selections at the Grocery stores like Krogers or Randall's or the Super Walmarts? I sometimes grab something there when I'm in the area and just want to snack on something.
Potbelly's I really don't understand the love for Jimmy John's... the most overrated "gourmet" sandwich ever.
Well I wouldn't compare a sub to a double cheeseburger. Whenever I eat a burger at Burger King it's ALWAYS a whopper. So if you compare that then the tuna sandwich is clearly healthier. Plus I usually won't get just a whopper, I'll get a combo, so then you add the soda and fries and you're probably close to 1,000 calories. If I go to Subway, I bring the sandwich home and get either water or possibly a 12 ounce can of soda and some chips (which probably comes out to about half the calories than the 20 ounce drink and medium fries from BK) Now I don't always get tuna either...depending on my craving, I might get a roast beef...which is only 290 calories, 5 grams of fat and 2 grams of sat. fat...so that is clearly healthier then the whopper and the double cheeseburger. So really, if I compared my usual meals from those places then Subway comes out to around half the calories of Burger King. But then I could, but probably wouldn't, get the grilled chicken salad at Burger King which would be comparable to any of the subs at Subway. So this kinda proves what I was saying in that you can find healthy choices at any restaurant if you wanted to; obviously it's not exclusive to Subway. But if I decide I want to have something healthy to eat one day, I'm not gonna go to Burger or McDonald's and get a salad or little junior cheeseburger that doesn't taste as good to me as a 6 inch sub from Subway. Of course if I wanted to eat truly healthy I'd just eat at home all the time.
Subway really is bad haha. Im surprised it's even getting this much support in the poll. And howd you end up a rookie again?
I love Carter & Cooley in the Heights. Never heard of Firehouse. Neilsen's on Richmond is a really cool deli too.
When in Austin I eat Jimmy Johns like a madman. I recently tried Wich Wich was decent as well. My favorite by far is Quiznos though mainly due to the toasty bread and availability of olives. An other honorable mention is Jason's Deli. Has anyone been to Potbelly Sandwiches? Any opinions on it, as I've never tried it myself.
