Subway has more options, and tend to be a lot more flexible, so I prefer them.

Firehouse subs beats both. They actually give me meat to go with my bread.

There should be a disclaimer on this poll "You have to have eaten at both places to vote." I sense a lot of you just voted Subway because that's the only one you have eaten at.

To answer the question, Quiznos makes better sandwiches. However, subway has better pricing.
But Quiznos toasts their delecious bread to perfection. And besides, no sandwhich can beat the Chicken Carbanara or the Honey Bacon Club.

My experiences at Quiznos have been awful. If you like toasted sandwiches you are going to prefer Quiznos. Subway toasted just isn't as good. I enjoy the selection at Subway, and that I know every single thing that is going to go on my sandwich, and I can see all of my options.

People should try Lenny's. I'm vegetarian, so I can only speak for their veggie sandwich. Its a few bucks more expensive than subway's 6 inch, but it tastes way, way better. They will load on the cheese, so if you're health concious you should ask them to limit that. And if you ask them to toast it, they toast the bread perfectly. Not like Subway, where it tastes like they just microwaved it.

Subway is freaking gross. Seriously I don't know how people pay for that crap. Marketing FTW.

The Classic Italian at Quizno's is pretty solid, but I don't really like much else there.

My favorites of the chain sandwich shops are Schlotzkeys and Firehouse.

ive eaten at firehouse once in san antonio - pretty tasty.

are there mcalisters in h-town? the only one i know of in the austin area is in georgetown - im up there once a month for work and i always eat there - i always get a turkey melt - delicious! probably the best sweet tea ive ever had as well!

there is one that i know of in san antonio too at 1604 and 281.

totally forgot about shlotzkys too - better than subway or quiznos.

Subway without a doubt. The meat at Quiznos' always seems to have a strange sweet taste to it so the only thing I will eat there is the vegetarian.

Taking into account taste, health, variety of choices, cost, and speed/quality of service, my ranking goes like this:

    1. Jimmy Johns
    2. Which Wich
    3. Firehouse
    4. Subway
    5. Blimpie
    6. Quiznos*

Quiznos loses major points on speed of service and cost. They are, by far, the slowest sandwich shop I've even been to, and their prices are ridiculous.

NOTE: Schlotzky's and Jason's Deli are disqualified from this ranking, because they make more "deli-style" sandwiches, rather than true "subs". Also left off the list are independent chains, such as Thundercloud Subs and Alvin Ord's, since they would just dominate, making the ranking unfair.

lol at people complaining about Quizno's prices. Subway is just as overly-r****ded when it comes to $$.

Subway tastes like cardboard. and it's not 'healthy' either. just because something isn't 'as-bad' as something else doesn't mean it's healthy.

I grow my own organic veggies and butcher my own meats cause corporate sub shops are too trendy and mainstream.

    seriously.

I used to love that place so much but it has pissed me off to the point that I haven't been there in a year. Their sandwiches have turned nasty some how.

Quiznos prices can be pretty ridiculous. I attend UHCL and they have a mini shop set up there, I guess they sort of take advantage of the "captive audience" who don't have time to get off campus between classes.

They don't serve any of Quiznos lower priced offerings either, and it seems like everything is jacked up so as to make it impossible to get out of there for less than 10 bucks.

I dunno, if I am gonna pay 10 bucks...I would rather sit down to a plate of fajitas, or get a meat and 2 veg from a Luby's or something.

    Quiznos.

Toasted subs in itself beats Subways anyday.

How healthy is Subway? I thought I read an article where pregnant women were instructed by doctors to not order the cold cut combo because of the nitrate in the meat?

    Personally, I like Schlotsky's.

    I picked subway.

Only thing good about Quiznos is their awesome raspberry sauce.
