    I still think that basketball has a long way to go in China. But it is growing, and eventually may be a close 2nd to soccer, in most popular sport.

    I’m sure you’re right, but it doesn’t have to be nearly as popular for it still to be a potentially very lucrative market for the Rockets. And the way Yao is handled and marketed will probably have significant impact on how popular it becomes. I just meant that Yao will likely be the most popular basketball player in China by a wide margin and there is lots of potential around that that I’m sure will be explored in the next 10 days and beyond.
