People deserve to know what they are putting in their body. They deserve to know the calorie content so that they can make an informed decision.

I am okay with decreasing health care costs by educating consumers.

Calories matter, they just are not the only thing that matter. I am glad that you posted the food pyramid, they have been trying to get it updated for years and mostly Republicans have been against it.

No, low fat fads were often championed by advertisers of places....... like Dominoes.

At the time it was approved, it was viewed as a first step.

It should bother you that you do not want informed consumers.

All this bullshit needs to stop. It is getting harder and harder for me to screw over immigrants, the poor, elderly and young. Back in the old days profits were booming.

Remember the good ole days of capitalism when you could work children for 12 hours a day? *Sigh* Such great times. These burdensome regulations are a real nuisance!

Pizza, with its insane number of variations in terms of ingredients and sizes, does present a unique problem here.

However, this unique problem does not make this law "STUPID GUBBERMINT REGULATION KILLIN SMALL BIZNUSS"

It doesn't. They fit under variable food product and only have to present a range. It is actually remarkably easy. Almost every restaurant has an endless number of possibilities because you can add an subtract to most food. For every line they have on the menu, they have to provide a range. Pizza menus actually have very few items listed in comparison to most fast food so it actually cheaper and easier for them.

To describe how easy this could be:

    Small Cheese Pizza: 1000 calories
    Medium Cheese Pizza: 1800 calories
    Large Cheese Pizza: 2500 calories
Toppings (Pepp, Olives, Pineapple, Onion, Tomato): 5-300 calories

To think about how un-unique the problem is, the largest food chain in this country is Subway. I have a client that owns several Jersey Mike's, somehow it didn't bankrupt him to change his signage.

Provided that my math skills are relatively accurate, in looking at a typical Domino's menu, they have over 1,000,000 combinations when you consider that you can put varying amounts of ingredients on a pizza. Now, common sense says that the law should read where a restaurant can simply display the information as you suggest and the customer should be responsible for computing the approximate calories on their own.

This is what I see in the store at subway. They gladly do this since it's one of their selling point. Not a particular selling point for pizza?
