Of course. What's weird is that neither of my parents are as lactose intolerant as I am. I guess they are just more liberal in their outlook. ;)

Forgot about that but I agree. I don't think I've ever met anyone who actually likes black licorice.

On the subject of candy I've never liked the black pepper and chocolate type candies or the spicy Mexican candies. Hot and very sweet isn't a flavor combination that agrees with me.

Also Japanese salted preserved plum paste is something I can't handle.

I can't stand shrimp or shellfish with that fresh sea taste. Shellfish are insects of the sea....

I'll eat popcorn shrimp because at that point you're just eating fried breading.

    Just thought of a couple:

    Olives
    Tuna

The grossest thing I can think of is the tuna sandwich from Subway with olives!

     :(

bread and butter pickles- that's the proper term for what I listed as sweet pickles. Those little tricky pickles people put on appetizer and veggie plates because you assume everyone in their right mind would not like them and serve them to guests. My grandma always puts them on veggie plates, and I've done this about every time I visit her once a year, "oo pickles!!!... yuck!!!" I never learn.

my grandpa does. yuck. He gets bags of gourmet black licorice for christmas but he is about 80, so I dont think they had many candies to choose from when he growing up. I know at like country clubs and some restaurants, they'll have a bowl of generic different colored stick shaped hard candy. One of the flavors is black licorice. I took one years ago and I stuck it in a glass of water for about 30 minutes, so the whole water turned purple and absorbed the licorice flavor. My friends dared me to drink it, and I started gagging on my first sip. I can't think of black licorice without thinking of that moment. cool story. nastiest drink ever. might be a good prank to pull on a friend in the future if their beverage is dark or covered in a covered cup.

yeah like subway! but a lot of those places do it because it makes it easier for the cashier as well as the cooks/preparers to have the same listed veggies. Plus people don't come back and line and say "I forgot to say I wanted olives and pickles" and hold up the line. I bet over half the population doesn't like black olives is the thing, as well as they can be hard to pick out of things like cheese, and they have a lingering flavor even after you do.

oh and I don't like mushrooms
can't eat kolaches after a girl brought a few extra kolaches in class the day we dissected pigs in biology in HS. First off they were cold which made them gross, the smell of formaldehyde can make anyone lose an appetite, and then the reality that we were dissecting what I was eating once the bell would ring.

I eat black olives straight out of the bottle as a snack. I put olives pretty much on everything.

There's not much I don't enjoy. The only thing that comes to mind that I won't eat because I can't stand the taste is Brussels sprouts. I'm not a huge cabbage fan, but I can eat it. In general, I'll try anything once. Mexican friends trip out on me because I'm the only white buy they know who loves menudo. I'm not scared of soul food, either.

Food allergies is another story. Any raw fruits, vegetables, and nuts I have to eat with something or else I'll have this crazy choking reaction. Bananas and avocados are the biggest culprits. I always have to have a salad with my dinner instead of eating it before. Sucks because I love salads, so I can never just eat a salad.

Its amazing that drinking cow milk is so widespread when a majority of humans are lactose intolerant to some degree. Its a strange byproduct of colonialism that dairy consumption based on cow milk is worldwide.

I haven't drank cow milk in like 7 years. I'm not lactose intolerant or anything. It's just not natural to drink something like this.
