Can't think of anything that I can't stand the taste of. I'll try pretty much anything once. Well, maybe not some of the stuff they eat on Anthony Bourdain's or Andrew Zimmern's shows. lol I'm always trying to try something different that I haven't tried. I bought some elk meat the other day. I still prefer bison meat over it, but it was ok. I tried a durian smoothie. The smell freaked people in the office out. lol. I can't say it tasted great, and it smelled like mule ass, but eh, it tasted better than I expected. I thought I'd never eat sushi because it just seemed gross to me. I went and had sushi... had some little octopus lookin' things and some other crap. It was alright. I still don't know why people pay that much money for the stuff, but to each their own. I went to a hole-in-the-wall seafood place that had some kind of octopus dish. Ate that and liked it. The feel of the small octopus exploding in my mouth is something I had to get used to. lol. About the only thing I find absolutely nasty, but I'll still eat once every couple of years is Long John Silver. That is some crap food, right there. Grease exploding with every bite and getting cramps about 30 minutes later. Then you hit the toilet and are looking for seat belts so you don't launch off of it... oh wow. Oh wait, I just thought of something else. I had some sugar free candy once that contained maltitol. Never (since visiting Mexico and India) has my digestive tract felt like a nuclear bomb had been dropped on it like after eating that candy. I lived on the toilet for hours that day. And of course the scientist (or the idiot) in me wanted to make sure it was the candy that did it, so I ate a few more pieces... straight back to the bathroom to strap on the seat belts. Then I looked on Wikipedia and noticed it said In countries such as Australia, Norway and New Zealand, it carries a mandatory warning such as "Excessive consumption may have a laxative effect." In the United States, it is a Generally recognized as safe (GRAS) substance, with a recommendation of a warning about its laxative potential when consumed at levels of 100 grams per day or more. I'm not sure I ingested 100g, but .... never again will I knowingly eat that stuff.
I don't like the texture of water chestnuts. also cauliflower and broccoli. It's a texture thing, because I don't mind the stem part of broccoli. I think the reason why I don't like broccoli is because it got me real suck when I tried eating it with cheese.
As I have gotten older I have gotten more lactose intolerant (I won't associate with and prefer to not live around lactose ) so I can't consume straight milk and can only eat a little bit of ice cream and try avoid milk / cream based soups like chowder. Other than that I will eat almost anything but the things I generally don't like just because of taste are: celery ginger egg salad oysters kidneys casseroles with cream of mushroom soup pineapple and ham pizza (I like pineapple, I like ham, I like pizza but I don't like them together.)
Cheap, sliced black olives that go on pizza are pretty gross, but the quality whole unpitted black olives that you find at good Mediterrean restaurants are awesome.
bleu cheese. Even if I have no clue it is in a sandwich, I will taste it and it is impossible to continue eating no matter how hungry I am.
I don't think the cheap olives on the pizzas really make a difference since they're supposed to complement the pizza not be the main substance in the pizza you know?
That's how I like them too. In pasta or pizza or salads (and muffalettas!) they are awesome. Otherwise, pfft.
