Collegians WITHOUT agents have to determine by June 21 (I believe) one week BEFORE the draft if they will remain in the draft or opt to return to their university to retain eligibility. Hope Stromile is getting those 8 letters out (2 to Chicago) expressing his preferences. That's the way it is done in America. ------------------ There are 3 kinds of people: those who can count and those who can't.
Sky Pilot-- That's a very newsworthy link about Swift going to Vancouver. If he accepts plane tickets to Vancouver's workout, he can't go back to LSU. Probably worth a thread topic so everybody can see it. ------------------ [This message has been edited by grummett (edited May 31, 2000).]
Actually he is paying his own way (from my semi-reliable Canadian sources) which means he is so desperate to avoid LA or actually likes Vancouver. Anybody want to look up the cost of airfare from Shreveport to Vancouver? ------------------ Rockets: 82-0 in 2001. If you don't think so, you are a negative Grizzlies fan.
Wow. If he's paying for a ticket from Louisiana to Van, that's large. popeye had reported earlier that Swift didn't like Vancouver as well as LAC. I guess he won't be back to verify, dammit. Sky Pilot- can your source tell us how the workout goes?
Nolen, Yes. But the Vancouver papers (http://sportspages.com) will probably get the info before I do . ------------------ Rockets: 82-0 in 2001. If you don't think so, you are a negative Grizzlies fan.
Swift isn't going to Vancouver, he's going to their practice facility in Richmond which is much closer, according to NBAtalk.com. I think he's driving there on his own, just as he is to Houston. In my understanding, the reason he isn't practicing for everyone has nothing to do with whether he is willing to play for other teams (besides LAC), but is because he doens't want to lose his eligibility, in case he wants to go back to LSU, to avoid getting drafted by LAC. But I went to the Vancouver Sun website, and even though it says he's visiting on Monday at the Richmond practice facility, the article states that the Grizzlies are saying he'll visit Vancouver, although it doesn't say when. ------------------ the more I know, the more I know I don't know... Thanks Grizzled for clearing that up. In the back of my mind, I wondered about that possibility, but the other conclusion seemed more logical to me. It never hurts to have all the facts. ------------------ the more I know, the more I know I don't know...
