    Like comparing chess to checkers.

Depends on the company, MK usually more fun for casuals.

Street fighter 2 is still the best but the new generation of street fighter, the characters are too generic and not memorable
Like this street fighter 6, the new fighter looks generic
I like how mortal kombat brings in pop culture like alien or Robocop or the joker

Soul Caliber? Dreamcast, it was free

I guess Street Fighter in the Arcade

Mortal Kombat always had better graphics.

marvel vs capcom still the dopest. you don't actually see characters fighting, just colors mixing and exploding all over the place.

I acknowledge that Street Fighter is technically superior in terms of gameplay/mechanics. However, I just prefer the style and slower pacing of Mortal Kombat. I still remember being in the arcade and seeing someone pull off Sub-Zero's head/spine rip fatality for the first time. It was insane for the time and one of my strongest videogame memories. So overall, I vote MK.

If y'all want to go down a deep, deep fighting game rabbit hole, check out MUGEN. It's a custom fighting game engine you can run on your Windows PC, and people have put pretty much every character ever into it.
