When you say it may be 7 years old due to the discoloration of its eyes, I assume your referring to the development of cataracts inherent with old age? It also obviously depends on how much direct sunlight the dog has been exposed to. You could buy some doggles if the eyes are glazing over and it is going to be outside alot in the future. You could also get eye surgery. By the way, that is cool that you are keeping a stray. You have earned some respect from me for doing such a good deed for a lost animal. I hope it all works out. Enjoy your newfound companion.
I think people abandon perfectly good, socialized animals all the time. That seems to be how we always get our pets... ...but, just in case they don't, if anyone ever lost a tabby-and-white cat in Houston near the Richmont Square apartments, summer of '96, she lived outside in the apartment complex for two years but no one ever claimed that she had been theirs. I've moved to a couple of different cities since then, but I still have that cat with me.
You'll need to get it shots if you want to bring it anywhere. I read a horrible story in the Daily Texan about a cop shooting a pitbull with a shotgun in the owner's driveway. They escaped and someone called, the cop came and it supposedly "attacked" him, so he did what any "right" man would do and blew it's head off with a shotgun. And the F$CKING COP MADE THE LADY CLEAN IT UP OR HE WAS GOING TO WRITE HER ANOTHER CITATION!!!! Sorry for the caps, but I can't stand that reading about $hit like that. Don't tell me you could just knock the dog out with the 3-foot long steel shotgun you have, and don't order the lady to clean up her dogs body after you f$cking killed it.
I've taken in many strays over the years and often these animals are the most loyal pets you can imagine. They know a good thing when it happens. Good for you Uprising.
She's a real nice dog. But she seemed to have gone a little nuts today while I was at class for an hour. She tore up the carpet from the nails on the floor etc. But I fixed that all up already. There are other dogs in the house she'll have company with (my roomates dogs) but I want to have it for a few days and get it's shots etc. before I let it roam the house with the other dogs while I'm gone. I'm not usually gone that long.
