Wafer is a chucker. Even chuckers catch a break every once in a while. He played absolutely awful against OKC. He has that potential to get hot. Strawberry is a more rounded player though. It's not like either of them will be playing when the season starts anyways.
If we keep D.J. Strawberry we don't need Steve Francis. If we keep Von Wafer we don't need Luther Head. If we keep Mike Harris...?
When's the last time any 15th-spot guy gets any real playing time? They are going to keep whoever is cheaper. They might as well be judging them on personality.
With the rockets being so injury prone ie.T-Mac, Yao, Rafer, Battier, Barry and the rest of the Mash unit, I'm pretty sure they won't see any minutes.
3rd stringers on the Rox will get lots of playing time this season because we're going to be blowing so many teams out
Depend who's a better dresser Either one will spend most of their career time in the bench in suit anyway.
just imagine if CD was still GM.. he would've signed Wafer to a multiyear deal already a la Kelvin Cato
<br> Horribly uneducated assessment... Wafer can create for himself much better than Strawberry. He had some sick nasty dunks against the celtics and memphis the first time. He is a much better finisher, both shooting and driving. Strawberry is not the great defensive specialist that he's being hailed as. Both are alright at defending. And, i'm not even gonna begin to comment on the naivety of saying that no one has liked Wafer or everyone likes Strawberry
In an recent interview (Oct. 12) with roxturk.com, Jason Friedman said that DJ Strawberry was unlikely to make the team.
Overall, during the preseason, Wafer has been better. I didnt watch that game, but vs THunder, Strawberry was horrible, so was Wafer.
Ron Artest missed overall of 22 games in his last 3 season. Why no one considers him as injury prone? Is it about ''Ron Artest facts'' ? ie.Ron Artest doesnt ever get injured,he just goes to kill hypocrite
I think Wafer is better from what I've seen, but just to add to this if we are playing number game: 35 mins: 20/2/3/3/1 <-- Straw 26 min: 23/1/0/1/0 <-- Wafer 35 min: 31/1.5/0/1.5/0 <-- Wafer if you convert to 35 min (though this is in no way scientific or even close to accurate figured I'd do what happens if same minutes) Von Wafer fits what we need: Quick scoring. We have rebounders, We have defense a plenty. (Strawberry did very little boarding but I decided to just say). 3 steals in 1 game is good, but if Wafer can only score when open I'd keep him over Strawberry.
I knew I seen this guy before he came to Houston. He was in da Mc Donald's 2003 Highschool dunk contest against Lebron James and came in 2nd but a lot of people said he should have won it. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/6ht4XIWoyIo&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/6ht4XIWoyIo&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> also found this video when he was in LA <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/PlXFhmzwuaQ&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/PlXFhmzwuaQ&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> This guy is just as athletic as DJ if not more and he looks to be the better offensive player and watching the preseason games, he plays good D. Strawberry might be a better defensive player right now but a player's D can always be improved. Wafer is CLUTCH!
