For an encore 5.1 IP 2 hits 1 ER 8 SO 5 BB 1 HR 95 pitches 52 strikes Still throwing 100mph and that filthy filthy curve, but control was lacking, otherwise he was just almost as impressive, striking out 8 out of the 16 batters he faced. still cant get over the fact his changeup is 89-91 mph Compare that to my man Lincecum... his last start fastball avg 89-92 mph
Damn thats nasty but he didnt face 16 batters thats how many he got out he actually faced 23. An 8:16 k/batters faced is alot more impressive than an 8:23 k/batters faced Still...homeboy is just ****in sick
oh crap, you're right. For some reason, i was thinking the game was tomorrow. Fifa Frenzy got to me lol

http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/bi...t=At3GD_Du20D2COfMMvz7BrARvLYF?urn=mlb,248649 Get the ****ing kid in the All Star Game. It would be great for baseball.
Stephen Strasburg has struck out nine through six innings vs White Sox, giving him a record 31 through three starts. EDIT: 10 strikeouts and counting...
Oh, and his 32 K's in his first 3 starts of his career is indeed an MLB record: http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100618&content_id=11325792
He is a good pitcher no doubt but you gotta wait awhile for teams to adjust to him. All pitchers do better the first time a team gets a look at his pitches. Look at all the pitchers from Japan. Their first few games are usually awesome and their rookie year is usually their best year except for a few exceptions. I'm not saying Strasburg isn't good, I just don't think he can keep up this ridiculous pace over the long term.
Normally I'd agree. But a 100mph fastball with a 90mph change-up and a head-to-toe curve that slides isn't something a hitter can simply adjust to and hit. Frankly, no one is really going to hit his "slurve" or hit change-up with any consistency EVER unless his velocity drops due to injury/fatigue. They will have to hit the fastball. And a 100mph fastball is not easy to hit. Ever. Oh, and it has movement.
