This is a little off topic, but... I don't keep most of those "collectible" things. I do however remember getting a MoTaylor bobble head, (gave it away) and somewhere on the box it said "choking hazard".
Ooohh..."Never Been Opened"...I have random stuff, but nothing noteworthy...I think the only thing I have are my old Championship T-shirts...Other than that, I got nothing...
I don't know if it qualifies as "strange," but my father brought me a four year late birthday present last week. When the economy turned down, he was forced to take a job selling Apple products for Microcenter in Kansas City. When Apple ran their promotion with Yao and Verne Troyer (mini-me), they shipped life-size posters of Yao and Verne to retail outlets and my father claimed the one that his store had, seeing as how there weren't any Rox fans in KC. I put it up in my garage this weekend and was out front putting together a car seat when our babysitter dropped by. We talked for a few minutes and she got startled when she looked in the garage, thinking there was a HUGE prowler. I'll post a pic as soon as I snap one.
Anytime you save something that by all rights should have been thrown in the garbage and proudly display it in your home, I think it can safely be categorized as strange.
If you think an 8'X4' posterboard of Yao Ming "should have been thrown in the garbage," I doubt that you are a true Rox fan.
Well that's the point of this thread... Only true Rockets fans would bother saving decade-old bottles of water and old commercial promotion items, let alone shell out cash for hideous bobblehead refrigerator magnets and paper plates, unless they have a serious infatuation. We're all quite sick, I'm afraid.
