I just recently took my Coke Can w/ the 94 Champs logo off the shelf and drank it, because I was out of soda...it tasted just like sugar poo though...that'll learn me
All this coke bottle talk reminds me... I still have my commemorative Dr Pepper bottle from the first-ever home game at Toyota Center! Good thing I don't intend to sell it if the championship-era bottles are going for five bucks! Mine is empty, natch... What a strange, stupid thing to hold on to.
I have box score printouts from the scorers table from game seven of the 94 finals. I hung around after everyone cleared out of the arena, and they were just scattered all over so I took some.
Man I thought I was a hardcore rockets fan. My collection of crap pales in comparison with the stuff you guys have. All I have are just a few old basketball cards, and a Yao Ming bobble head. anyways, anyone willing to sell their piece of floor from the summit? I wonder how much its going for now a days...
I've had my old Rockets foam/nerf frisbee thing since I was 10 yrs old. Has chunks missing from where our dog tried to eat it, but it's still with me! I haul it out for luck when we get to the playoffs.
I've got 4 empty '96 - '97 Topps Basketball Hobby Boxes which feature Hakeem on the front. Two each of Series 1 and Series 2. I also got the promotional poster for the same collection.
Olajawon bobble head doll and the ticket stub from the game.... The ticket stub from the game with the jersey retiring ceremony with the crappy ass poster they handed out.....not that bad I guess but you just expect more for a guy who hand Houston its first ever championhip... The life size Yao Ming poster they gave away at his first game, still havent' unrolled it yet so i'm not sure if it is autographed or not...
I have a lot of random things, but most of them were gifts for being the first 5000 (or 15) fans at the Summit (or Compaq Center). My favorite item is the 1994 Championship replica ring they passed out during the ring ceremony game. Still in my jewelry box. I think the plates are awesome!!! I wish I had some!
I have a signed vinyl record of the "Rockets Rap" from the 1986 Rockets. Everyone on the team signed it except for Dream and Ralph Sampson.
Weirdest thing I've ever seen was the Yao Ming celebriduck: http://www.hottubessentials.com/spa_celebriduck_Yao_Ming.asp
Actually, the Yao celebriduck inspired this thread. A buddy's father had one on the desk of his study. I bet the manufacturing laborers in China that made those things were pretty confused. I'd be hard pressed to come up with a reason to give them why Yao Ming needed to be immortalized in duck form.
I never did like those celebriducks. The only one I ever got was the Moochie one. I think I still have it but I'm not sure
That's pretty damn funny! I can imagine the conversations around the factory on the first day of New Product Introduction.
