Dude, do you even play basketball? I mean we can all watch it and make our "expert" opinions, but it's become quite annoying how in every thread you manage to act as if Ron Artest is a liability to any team in the NBA and that Von Wafer is actually on par with Ron Artest. The only thing that Von does better is probably a bit in FG % and the fact that he is much cheaper -- you get what you pay for (for the most part because some players do become worthless after a big contract). I'm sure when NBA players play basketball, they'd notice they are playing a Ron Artest much more than they'd notice a Von Wafer and whatever (if any) impact that Von Wafer is having. Von to be is just a player filling a void. If you are in the starting line up, of course you are going to get your opportunity to score. Ron Artest is much more valuable than Von Wafer. That's not even debatable in my opinion. And again, a franchise with no leadership and veteran foundation/quality should probably stay away from Ron Artest, but in terms of talent and impact, Ron Artest beats Von Wafer. And Von's had his share of stupid/selfish fast breaks where he tries to be a hero and failed. What went wrong was that Artest was brought into Houston as a third option but he ended up being 2nd and sometimes having to even be 1st. I'm sure that led to Ron Artest feeling obligated to come up big for the team, which didn't go so well. Ron Artest > Von Wafer. With that said, Ron Artest should play with Cleveland. I'd love to see that.
I don't we need a Ron Artest while we have Battier. He only adds toughness to the team. His offense is deeply questionable.
Me too, we don't need to over pay a declining player, who holds onto the ball too much, shoots too much and can't stay in front of his man any longer. Sorry, Ron was a great player...operative word....WAS.... Now, he is not worth the money he is asking...sign Von, he is an up and coming player. DD
Dude, Von is a serviceable back-up at best. Maggette, Von...c'mon man. Those guys dont play any more team ball than Artest does. I think your a smart guy, but sometimes your basketball judgement gets impaired from time to time.
We should just let all our stars go and plan to be back in contention for 2010. Sign Iverson or something for a one year deal just to make it interesting for 09.
This is literally from Ronald's mouth as well: http://vodpod.com/watch/1838760-ron-artest-michael-michael-number-1 His tribute to Michael Jackson. I'm gonna miss Tru Warrier.
Ronny Ronny Ronny you my n*gga, homie don't tell a lie you know you'll miss him(know that you'll miss him), I cry for Ron, I cry for Ron, I cry for Ron
The thing I love about Ron Artest is that he is funny and real, almost like Charles Barkley except not too drunk. I will miss him if he leaves, it will leave a void for the Rockets. There is no doubt he contributed to the 1st round win, definitely was the 2nd best team this year. The only thing I'm hoping for is he doesn't sign with the Lakers.
Agreed. I don't care where he goes, per se, as long as it is not the Lakers. Cleveland, Boston, Orlando? Fine. Just not L.A.
For a Varejo/Hickson SnT. Or in Miami for a Beasley/Haslim SnT. Maybe in Denver for a Smith/Kleiza SnT. Maybe in Atlanta for a Childress/MWms SnT. Maybe even in the Toy Shop...
thanks to everyone who listened and participated last night. you can hear the interview at your leisure at the following link: http://www.sports1140.com/Carmichael-Dave/1939975 and for some super awesome dancing, check this vid at about the 20 second mark. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQCl1dnLvVo&feature=related thank you
The Rockets should not lose Artest for nothing. Sign and Trade would be great to get pieces to retool the team.
Here's hoping Wafer signs with another team as soon as possible. Otherwise all this Wafer is better than Artest nonsense will never stop. Ron, Houston fans still appreciate you.
