I really thought ming would win it just a few weeks ago, but you have to realize that stoudamire has had a bigger impact on his team than yao on ours. Right now they are easily in the playoffs when last year they finished 10th? Of course houston only won 28 games last year, but they were 2 and 30 something without steve, so its safe to say that we would have won more games last year than them with steve healthy. I think both will be equally great players in the long run, Ming is so tall, and has great skills once he gets stronger and more physical, he will be the best center in the league, when shaq leaves. Stoudamire is just so built for a 20 year old, and is still raw, so he is going to be unstoppable when he gets some low post moves and a J. They should be co-roy.
Yes, Amare is a freak. Yes, Amare is a beast. But better than Yao Ming offensively? I don't think so. Yao has a much better outside jumper and more of an array of offensive moves around the bucket. There's just no comparison skillwise. Amare uses brute force and freakish athleticism to get his points. Yao has the ability to use craft and post moves. Amare may be more of a low post presence, just because of his tenacity, athleticism, and strength, although Yao is 7'6" which is damn hard to ignore. Like Ming, once Amare develops, he's gonna be scary.
