Did these players leave the bench and enter an altercation...where an actual fight was taking place? Was this in the middle of the court or the sidelines?
In all cases those players merely stepped a foot or two on the court. There were other Heat and Knick players suspended, but some were fighting on the court after being in the game and did not leave the bench (Starks, Mourning, others). The ones I mentioned only stepped onto the court. In the case of Jalen Rose, he ventured maybe a foot across the sidelines, much less than Amare and Diaw, and was suspended for it.
But fights were taken place while they got up, right? I find it funny that the league office said there was an "altercation" when Diaw and Stoudemire got up from their seats, yet only Robert Horry was suspended for whatever altercation there was. If there was a real altercation a player from the Suns involved in this phantom fight would have been suspended, as well.
Yeah, and they didn't have to suspend Horry for two games, either. The whole thing was stupid and ruined the rest of the playoffs.
yes. a hard foul in the closing seconds of a game isnt always a cheap shot, but that sure looked like one to me. let it go dude - that was a different thread in a different forum. and what the heck does this have to do with torture? basketball is a game - torturing people is a real issue with real consequences where people are dying. there is a big difference b/t hard fouls and sticking glo-sticks up dudes poopers and murdering people. some laws should not be zero tolerance and in this case there should have been some leeway for reasons i already explained. it doesnt. nash instigated getting cheap shotted by horry? the guy is a flopper, but that was a real, hard foul. i thought you were ignoring me?
They can keep telling themselves that and be sent home by the Spurs again next year. Why would anybody doubt the Spurs at this point?
Did you watch the series? Do you think the Spurs should have blown up their roster after losing at home to Dallas the year before? Close matters. It is clear all 3 teams are very, very, close (Mavs, Spurs, Suns). Matchupwise, the Spurs are worst for the Suns, the Mavs for the Spurs, and the Suns for the Mavs. But the relative talent and competitiveness of among them obvious. Duncan even admitted they very easily could have lost to Nash and the Suns--the margin was razor then. Also, as a team the Spurs are much older than both the Suns and Mavs. The latter two teams only need to tinker and have every reason to believe they are in the mix for next year's ring.
judging by the recent trade rumors of him going to Minn, I think Amare needs to change his statement from "we were an inch from title" to "I'm now a thousand miles from title"
I would add KG for Amare is tinkering, or at least not changing their nature/game. It is a no brainer in the short term basketball wise, KG would keep their offense just as good and basically run the same stuff offensively while making their defense a lot better.
[ sorry i wont look for consistency from you anymore. i know it doesnt. thats what i found entertaining about it. yes, it was a hard foul. thats not a cheap shot. but nash did exaggerate it as well. you have to admit that. I'm ron burgundy?
so because i wont compare rules regarding basketball and torture i am not consistent? you are really digging here. you told me you were done with the discussion we were having and you disappeared, only to bring it up in the nba dish a week later. pretty weak. then why did you ask me? what is your point exactly? are you really trying to say that i am inconsistent b/c i am against torture and yet think the stoudamire suspension was excessive? imo it was a hard foul as well as a cheap shot. are you the definitive authority on the matter? and i think i already said nash exaggerated it and is a known flopper. its funny that you called me a stalker, yet you are doing the exact same thing. if i may throw your words back at you...
