About four years ago, we had a couple of tornadoes touch down in our area. When the warning came, my wife was in the grocery store with our two girls... then 2 and 4. They got crowded into the back of the store near the bathrooms for several minutes. Tornadoes did touch down a few miles away and ripped some roofs off of houses and uprooted a lot of trees.

My girls don't take the weather lightly anymore... :(

My son skipped a boy scout campout because he had a track meet on Sat. morning. We get up at 6:00 am, I cook him a good breakfast and off we go only to find out that HISD went super cautious and cancelled pretty much everything on Sat.

It seemed like in this case HISD really jumped the gun, since the bad weather was due in the late afternoon. I'm probably just feeling peeved about waking up so early on a Sat for nothing. :p

Thank god there wasn't any hail. I just bought a car - I don't want hail damage already!

it was plastered on the front page of the Chronicle web site on Friday and Saturday that all HISD activities were cancelled on Saturday with the exception of one basketball game.

How did you post at 10:03 PM and have a pic that said, "10:15 PM CST?"

    Neat trick.

Faos, you dummy... you linked directly to the pic from the weather web site.

    you should know better.

the image regularly changes. It now shows completely clear skies.
