My apologies Durv, I thought you were on the Lowry band wagon, as you had a thread about this topic recently.

    I stand corrected.

Cool, this thread is just confusing as a whole since we can't really label AB as a position.

I love AB and he has flashes of Point Guard greatness with some passes but He is a SG trapped in a PG body.

You should know better DD, Durvasa is as neutral as they come. Heck, he wouldnt even pile on T-Mac much. And if he did have something negative to say, it was not about observation, but about the numbers.

overall, i don't think it's a clear cut to say either is a better player in b/w ab and kl.

ab is a much better scorer, that much is clear.

but bball game is not just scoring. we all know that.

looking forward, it all depends on how yao plays next year. i say if yao is back to his pre-injury level (a ? at this point), then kl is a better pg for the rockets, period. how to deal with ab at that point is another story.

and there is no way any team can reasonably expect to sign kl in 2-3 mils range.

Here is a novel idea: Let's just keep both?! Brooks is PERFECT for this system, a SHOOTING PG. Look at Sacramento and Bibby. My gripes with Aaron is at crunch time when he is struggling, other teams just trap him. Enter Lowry. Kyle just plays with much more composure and his aggressiveness gives the Rockets a good balance of different play at the PG.

No kidding. The only reason I could see moving one of them is if/when we bring over Llull. If so, I'd prefer moving Lowry, if I had to move one of them.

PS: when you going to give us a wallpaper? We're overdue!

Exactly, I want to keep them both too, but in my opinion Brooks is the clear-cut starter and should not be traded unless we are getting a bonafide superstar on a fairly reasonable contract. Not max unless it's a LeBron/Wade type guy.

I just do not believe we are anywhere close to seeing Aaron's peak. I think his mid-range game, passing, and decisionmaking will improve considerably over the next couple years.

Yep, Lowry is a better pure PG while AB is a better all around player. If we keep both, great, it gives us a lot of flexibility. However how much is AB worth to resign? 10M? 12M? He's a great value now but he won't always be.

There were rumors about Minn wanting to move Jefferson and Rubio doesn't appear to want to go there. I would look here first if I was Morey, then at Bosh, and then Stoudemire.

Either with a trade or without we look good. And we still have caproom to look forward to when Battier/Jeffries expires, not to mention lottery picks.

It's a great time to be a Rockets fan.

Remember we don't have to sign Brooks until the new CBA is in place (I don't think) and he is also a restricted free agent after his deal is up.

He might not be as expensive as you think.

You post this on a night when he's scored 26 points and 7 assists?

Are you blind, or just stupid?

    The whole point is:

Brooks is a great scorer, but is not clutch in decision time. Lowry is.

OMG we should sign Allen iverson, he can average 30ppg!!

OMG we should sign Marbury, he averages 20ppg and 10assists!!!

Are you blind or do you just judge box scores, can't you see that he absolutely just got abused by both Earl Watson and TJ Ford?

Can you see that when he is in the game, the opposition basically just runs their sets with no disruption cos he puts no pressure on the opposing point guards?

Can you see that he has no clue how to run a team as a point guard and that all our offensive breakdowns happen not because we miss shots, but that we can't even get a decent shot?

I knew we could have a probem again without Lowry, but did not expect so bad from our PGs. Brooks got abused by TJ Ford, but we do not have anyone who can cover him, that is sad.

This is all good and true. But Brook's deficiencies have been the same with no improvement. He is looking to score, and when the players know this, this kills our ball movement.
