we will never perfect this despite how much we practice. it's been the case since yao's entered the league, regardless of who the coach is or the players are. it is what it is.

try to do other things instead.

I know this whole forum hates Tracy right now but its quiet simple durvasa, we are/or are going to need a healthy Tracy to have the ball in his hands to create for Yao. He is the only one who can do that and is the only one who can create for himself.

It was because of Yao...how many times did he even touch the ball in the last 6mins? And how much time did we spend trying to get the ball into him? You cant spend 10seconds every play trying to get him the ball just to find out you have to create another play out of thin air with the shot clock winding down. I'm sorry, but Yao did absolutely nothing for us in the fourth...this is why he is not a leader..this is why he cant lead this team anywhere..."superstars carry their team" and Yao rarely ever does.

that's why we have had 4th quarter breakdowns the past few years. we just an eternity trying to get yao the ball, and when the play started knowing that we can't, but WE STILL DO IT. shot clock winds down, we swing the ball to the other side jacking up a desperate shot.

i still don't know why our coaches dont' get this. i'm baffled actually.

will you guys give it up with this whole "we need a healthy Tracy" thing?

face the facts: there is no healthy tracy. there isnt. he does not exist. so what good does it do to make statements like this?

If he rehabs his knee, he could come back next year 100%...

he's never going to be 100%. you hae to understand that. but knowing what kind of microfracture he had, i'm sure he can be what he was last yr. he's not going to be superstar-like the whole year, but he can be a borderline all-star still i presume. let's see how hard he works at his rehab.

seeing him on the sidelines shows the surgery wasn't that bad.

Its pretty frustrating for rockets fans to see defenses totally shut us down in the last few minutes of games. When tracy played in the fourth he always created a shot for himself or created a shot for someone else....How many times have you seen a great pass by Tmac to Yao when the game is tight?....Tracy is great at getting the ball to Yao...its pretty obvious the team needs a healthy tracy or a guy like tracy that can create for others no matter how tight the defense gets.

and if pigs could fly they would be birds.

tracy couldnt even do simple rehab for his minor scope over the summer. you really think he can do the hardest rehab there is in basketball?

nobody is 100% after microfracture anyway.

the rockets collapsed like this when tracy was playing too . . .

the only difference between this game and one with tracy was the name on the back of the jersey of the player jacking up stupid shots.

I don't remember 17 points in the 4th. This must have been some sort of record.

Guess the team listen to you.

They stopped feeding Yao at 4th, thus blew a 17 points lead.

    Props to you and Adelman.

o please... maybe its the fact that this team has no other plays then to try and feed Yao the ball... if he is covered fine... you still got 15 seconds to drive the ball in..

rather than take 3 pointers... or 18 footers... then blame it on our inability to get it to the big stiff or... to create our own shots....

lets face it this team got lazy... the Bulls didn challenge our outside shots... and we were doing great first 3 quarters.... no need to go to Yao...

but then the shots stopped falling and we could get the ball to Yao

basic BBall drive to the paint

What should they have done instead ... thrown the ball through the defender in front of him?

Was it the first time they see fronting?

Are you suggesting Rockets should differ from Yao everytime he's fronted?

I think he ment... they did stop going to Yao...(ie force feeding him) resulting in turnover...

You are missing the point. It's not that they did not want to go to him.

    It's that they couldn't.

One of the few sensible posts on this forum. Many people love the winning streak and get caught up in the excitement of the motion offense but what do you when you have close games? (Collapse is not a choice.) No one besides T-mac at this point and a developed, less turnover prone Wafer could do that in the future. What are we going to do in the playoffs, we can't afford jacked up shots as possessions are golden. I want the rockets to do well but we just don't have a shot maker which hopefully DM will address this offseason.

    Go Rockets.
