I think they only list players who have taken a certain number of shots or played in a certain number of games.
Agreed. Great post. People here always pin the blame on one guy. McGrady was responsible for the whole team not making it past the first round of the playoffs. Alston was holding the rest of the team back. Ariza is the source of all the Rockets' problems. You're right, if he's traded, folks here will quickly find a new scapegoat. No one wants to look at things with any kind of subtlety or complexity. Everyone wants to just pile on one player. I guess it's just the nature of being a fan.
I agree with you. As I've said when "you know who" was not in exile, failures are on the team. Continue to rejoice in last year's second round appearance while having little expectations and you'll be fine. That what it appears others have done to enjoy this season. The bed that you've made isn't feeling too comfortable right now, huh Rick?
I agree with you. However, as someone who just registered with Clutchfans in 2009 I feel that you do not have the right to complain about Juwan and Rafer.
What does his registration date have to do with his knowledge of basketball or the Rockets? You sound silly.
No your are right, that was compared to "qualified players". When compared to ALL players (Total of 419), he is number 354. 2009-10 FIELD GOALS LEADERS : Field-Goal Percentage - All Teams Displaying results 351-400 of 419 found Results: « Prev 1-50 51-100 101-150 151-200 201-250 251-300 301-350 351-400 401-419 Next » AVERAGE TOTAL PLAYER NAME, TEAM NAME GP PPG FGM FGA FGM FGA FG% 2PM 2PA 2P% 351 Hilton Armstrong , NOH 18 2.8 1.1 2.8 19 50 .380 19 50 .380 352 * Gerald Henderson , CHA 21 3.2 1.0 2.8 22 58 .379 18 44 .409 352 * A.J. Great post! Everyone needs to calm down and realized that our team is actually performing better than a lot of analyst predicted. This is a team without star and half of the salary is resting on the bench. What do you guys expect? Do any of you expect a championship? Or even in the top half of the playoff teams? Calm down and cheer for the team, even when they lose. Nobody blamed Ariza when Lakers had a loss, because he was 5th maybe 6th best player there. He is now being asked to do more than he is capable of. I do think the couch should ask AB or Landry to take more shots. But I don't think Ariza did all this without couch's permission or encouragement.
Well said! I completely agree. I don't know what people were expecting when we signed Ariza. Maybe someone who would grow into a player like Joe Johnson or Kobe but instead we got....Trevor Ariza at a fair price. What our team is lacking is a playmaker/scorer that guys (the whipping boys) like Battier and Ariza will greatly benefit from. I believe that is Morey's next move. Yao coming back and playing like he was last year will also help. Everyone had preseason predictions of us being about a .500 team or less. Then we started to play pretty good and everyone got excited. Then everyone starts to expect being good and gets frustrated when we don't win and then the finger pointing starts. I think we are right about where we should be with our current roster and that's not too bad. Let's see what happens when we get the piece I mentioned above.
Thats too simplistic of a way to look at it. Even though KD was a 19 year old rookie, he was ALWAYS the go-to guy his entire basketball career thus far. Even Ariza admits he wasn't even the go-to guy in high school. I'm not defending Ariza's garbage play so far, all I'm saying is that things can change and he can get better.
Only reason why Ariza is putting up stats is because he is playing so many mins(38.5) More than lebron(38.2) and just under Kobe(38.7) and he has been labeled as our go-to-player. Its pretty disappointing to see even t-mac injured put up slightly better stats. Its just that Rick adelman is so caught up in his system he cant recognize this team is not doing anything thats so fascinating without our superstars. Yea they are 20-16 thats OK, but in the past with t-mac and Yao they were always a potential 1-3 seed. So he thinks where this team is at that its to late to figure out how to fit Mcgrady in, in my opinion is a mistake
thats the problem. We are trying to change a guy who has been the same type of player dating back 7 or MORE years ago.
While I probably wasn't around for the Juwan hating, I have lurked on this forum long enough to see all the Rafer bashing. There is a thread right now with a bunch of people still hating on Juwan and he hasn't been here for several years, so I assume Juwan used to be the scapegoat.
There will always be one guy that shoulders most of the blame. Always. Just because T-Mac is gone doesn't change anything. Fans will just find another player to blame.
it is not what we have it is what we don't have i luv this team!!!!! but we all know the chuck at center thing full time has got 2 go & we need2 spread the blame around slump or not we missed 2 many wide open shots &brooks got killed by nash i like ariza but budinger & LANDRY BOTH NEED MORE TIME ON THE FLOOR ALONG W/ A TRADE 4 A BIG OR 2 & MAYBE A SHOOTER THAT CAN SHOOT how many games will we lose b-4 we lose the t- mac drama &get bac 2 b ball
Did this in spite of the Ariza hate. I know there are more factors at play here...Brooks/Lowry are primary ball handler, Chase is a catch and shoot guy, etc. Still its not fair to blame all the Rockets turnover woes on Ariza, and I'm not trying to pick on Aaron here.
Nice post... I still can't believe we got Lowry for Rafer Alston... AB and Lowry are a match made in heaven, Now we just need a SG!!!
