Yeah, because anybody who isn't anti-Bush is a troll. Right?

You people are worse than those you hate.

The only connotation I was thinking of was standing on the sidelines while others do the work.

And I can't figure out if you meant "immature" or "amateur-ish."

Out of curiosity, what is your skillset? You know the military uses people with all kinds of skills from cooks and doctors to dog trainers and accountants, right? I bet you could find a way to contribute, but maybe you just don't know how to go about it. Let me know your interests and I'll set you up so that by your sacrifice, some other guy can head to the Iranian front.

    Thanks for your service.

No. people can support Bush and not be trolling. But people who say they look forward to starting another war are clearly trolling and hoping for a reaction.

But you demand it of others?

    How disgusting.

There won't be a draft because they know the draft would instantly end this war and then they can't get their war on anymore :(

    1. No, we are not in a state of national emergency

    2. I'm registered with the selective service and I wouldn't go to canada if I was called up. I guess I wouldn't feel right about others going while i high tail it. I would write some damning memoirs of what I see over there though and i would make it clear that if I die, my blood will be more on the hands of this woefully incompetent administration than on some ass backwards jihadist. I wouldn't even know the motive of the guy who killed me. Does he just hate america? Am I an infidel and therefore deserve death in his eyes? Or is he just some pissed off Iraqi who doesn't want an invading army in his country? Add that to the constant change of reasons for this war being started and I would think that the soldiers who are over there must constantly wonder what exactly it is they are putting their lives on the line for and what their buddies died for.

    3. Clearly, I don't.

Disagree. I believe that Americans are safer when our nation persues aggressive foreign policy. Why does that make me a troll?

I don't demand anything. We have a volunteer military. If there was a draft, I would definitely expect others to serve if called upon, as I would myself. Explain why this is disgusting, thanks.

Cheerleaders are usually thought of as female, no? If that was not your intention, then forget about it.

I meant it was an amateur attempt as cutting me down. You really got me on the mistake.

You misunderstand: I have no doubt that I could be utilized in the military, I just have better options for me. Also, were I to join, I don't see my personal involvement making a significant impact on the effectiveness of the military. Thus I risk my life for no real logical reason.

That's a part of why I would support a draft. If the burden of fighting a war affected more people you would see a lot less support for fighting all but the most necessary of wars. As of now too many people feel fine being cheerleaders of the war because others volunteered. I think if many of the cheerleaders actually had to serve you would see some different opinions.

    Why would you say that?

One can pursue an aggressive foreign policy without hoping for another war. Hoping for another war is so ridiculous that if you weren't trolling it still doesn't merit any discussion.

Even most war supporters will tell you(whether it is a lie or not, who knows?) that they don't hope for any war but feel that it was worth it. Now you come on here and pretend to hope for a war. It would be trolling on any board.

On a board where(sadly) the balance leans heavily to the left and anti-war side, to phrase it as you did seems obvious that you want to get a reaction and rile people. It may in some way reflect what you really believe, but it seemed to be over-stated or worded for effect.

Fine, it was worded poorly. I take it back.
