Not exactly Van Halen, but... http://blogs.livedaily.com/index.php/main/comments/1522/stone_temple_pilots_reunion_brewing.html Stone Temple Pilots Reunion Brewing Grunge-era rock icons Stone Temple Pilots, who broke up back in 2003, are eyeing a reunion expected to yield a batch of summer concerts, according to reports. Word first surfaced after ex-STP/current Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland, while on hand at the Jan. 19 AROD Family Foundation benefit in South Beach, FL, told the Miami Herald that fans should "be on the lookout for an STP reunion in the coming months," according to MiamiHerald.com. Days later, ex-Guns N' Roses/current Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash reportedly told Billboard.com that Weiland is planning to rejoin his former STP bandmates for a "handful of summer reunion shows." Before the seemingly imminent STP reunion takes place, Weiland is expected to remain at the helm of Velvet Revolver during the group's in-progress winter tour, which supports the band's sophomore album, last year's "Libertad." Yes yes yes! Yes! I never got the chance to see STP live. Wherever in Texas they go I will be there. The Chris Cornell solo tour covered Soundgarden nicely. Even heard em play Loud Love.
Somebody needs to convince Weiland to eat and to stop dressing like an honorary member of Interpol for this thing to work.
Yeah, the Velvet Revolver thing doesn't seem to be working out very well -- they couldn't even sell out Stubbs here in Austin.
I'm going to Coachella this year and there have been rumors of that being their first reunion show. I kinda doubt it though, they just don't fit with the type of bands typically there.
Alice's Dog Reaching Nirvana While Chained in the Stone Temple Pearl Garden gross... (sorry...i feel kinda bad for having to include Nirvana in that.)
Saw them at the Astro Arena in the summer of 1994. Awesome show. Their first two cds are great. In fact, I'm going to fire up Purple right now.
You mean we get to see Weiland sing for STP when he's not strung out on heroin. That should be interesting.
Purple definitely my fav. "if you should die before ask if you can bring a friend", how genius is that. But there is a special place in my heart for the last 3.
Idiot. Moving along.... As my favorite band of the 90's and second favorite band of all-time, I can only say bad f***ing ass! I'd love to see one of their shows. I really wish they'd make another album; that'd be too cool. Scott Weiland is a musical genius.
I still remember sitting in the movie theater watching The Crow when I first heard "Big Empty". It blew my adolescent mind away and after purchasing their albums I had STP scrawled all over my backpack and folders. I don't know how many times I had explained that I wasn't endorsing the damn motor oil but rather the band.
