olynyk only fan here, crying aloud on the floor #204 missing his wig, his unselfish PnR, his timely 3s, his hustling defense… Totally agree, stone got stoned n mess things up, now stone is hiding somewhere calculating the situations. Pepe Silas Real silas
Right about Daniel Theis and Nwaba? Lol doesnt matter if fringe players are good signings or not yhe Rox arent here to compete for a ring. Olynk and Brown arent exactly lighting it up for Detroit and the Mavs.
what does it even matter where you pick when you dont have a clue how to develop? not only rockets lack finesse development coaching they blatantly err refusing to even give enough playing time to talented FRPs
Most of us knew that the team would be playing for another top draft pick after they blew the pick on Green and made downgrade moves in the offseason. The good thing is that the Rockets will potentially get a second shot at drafting a franchise quality player in the upcoming draft. If they made the right offseason moves, the Rockets would have no chance at a top pick.
So now you've switched your constant shtick from "never tanker" to "play Sengun 40 mpg or don't draft at all"?
i dont see a switch or contradiction here... not that i necessarily advocate what you suggested what i advocate is if you are clueless, no matter what you do it wont do you any good...no top pick will do you any good and if you do fundamentals right, not cutting corners and all that, youll do good no matter the obstacles in front of you...no matter where you pick youll be picking the right guys and the stars or develop them outa scrubs like teams do all the time
Pretty safe bet that they were bad signings and like 80% of the board thought so. Basically professional GM worthy analysis. An overpaid, backup journeyman big and wing with an achilles injury history didn't live up to "the hype".
Don’t think he was a totally blown pick. Just wasn’t as good as Mobley for what the team needed. Size and defense. He’ll be better next year, but it will depend on his off-season work ethic. Getting a real point guard and coach would help his game too.
I guess in context what I meant was that they used the pick on a player who wouldn't help the team this year and would actively cause the team to lose games. You're right that it's too early to say Green will never be any good, but I don't think there's much chance he ever becomes a franchise caliber player. So my point was that in part because Green is so terrible at basketball right now, the Rockets are likely to get another chance at landing a franchise caliber player.
If you have to put specific types of players around someone - then that someone should not have been the number 2 pick....... DD
