How could we not try to get Quentin Grimes? He's exactly the type of guy we need on our bench. Can play defense and makes 3's. Can start at SG or SF when the starter is hurt or needs a game off. Only 24. ****, Stone wasted two ****ing picks on scrubs in his draft, he's been traded 4 times for 2nd round picks.
He’s a lawyer first and foremost - doesn’t react quickly, so the trade deadline when things come together quickly… just isn’t what he’s comfortable with
It's fine, this team realistically has no shot at a title this year. I'm OK with them punting if that means they'll commit when we're ready to win it all.
I'm disappointed, but I understand why they want to roll with what they've got and see it through this season... BUT, my biggest issue is the team is obviously running on fumes. We could've used some reinforcements. Quentin Grimes, Coby White... some depth and guys who can make a shot. Right now, it's fatigue, injuries... that's the problem when your team relies on defense, hustle, grit, and grind to win games. Giving 110% effort night after night is exhausting. It can only take you so far. Ime might have been the same type of player, but dude averaged 5.2 PPG and obviously had a sub par career. So hustle is an important ingredient, but it can't be all. The team is talented athletically and physically, but obviously lacks that superstar high draft pick - a Wemby (though, F that guy), Banchero, Ant, etc. Not having a guy like that who can pour it in consistently means you aren't going to run away and hide from most teams in this league. You're going to be in games, but battling to the end. We have guys who can put up 30, but Jalen and Sengun aren't going to give you 50 or even 45 a few times per season, to take the pressure off on those nights when the defense is giving up some hoops. Let's roll with it for this season, though we need this All Star break like nobody's business right now. If we get through the offseason and don't flip some of these assets for an actual superstar, I will then be extremely disappointed.
How many expiring or team option contracts did we have for ammo? Tate, jock, adams, uncle Jeff, FVV? Couldn’t get anything???
Why didn't Stone get involved in this trade? Rockets have better assets than what NOP gave up in return for Smart + FRP. https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2025/02...t-round-pick-to-wizards-laravia-to-kings.html Rockets in: Robert Williams III, Jay Huff, Delano Banton Rockets out: Jeff Green, Jock Landdale, Jae'Sean Tate, 2 SRP Blazers in: Marcus Smart, FRP Blazers out: Robert Williams III, Delano Banton Grizzlies in: 2 SRP, 2 expiring contracts (Jeff Green, Jock Landale, Jae'Sean Tate) Grizzlies out: Marcus Smart, Jay Huff, FRP
When we drop to being a play in team and lose and give our lotto pick to OKC, I want everyone who defended Stone to self ban.
