You were not livid when Rockets first announced Fred + Dillon contracts? Consensus in media and fandom alike was they were overpaid. Bottom line, it's not my money or yours.

The rockets back then and the rockets now are COMPLETELY different situations, it's not comparable. I do not want the rockets to have a 30% of the cap albatross with fox so i'm THRILLED he isn't a rocket, and it has nothing to do with who's money it is, it has only to do with me wanting to see the rockets compete for titles.

We compete for titles by upgrading areas of opportunity. Even you can agree that Fred is injury prone + a liability in clutch time + his play style does not complement our run-jump athletes who prefer a faster paced game. Fred can't even hit 3P shot anymore.

Ya i don't agree with that philosophy at all. Getting a minor upgrade at PG to have an horrific albatross contract is a terrible idea to me. Fox can't shoot and sucks on defense, so while i think overall he would improve the rockets a bit, for the cost it would be a failure of epic proportions.

Fox is better defender than Jalen + averages almost exact stocks as FVV. Under Udoka, Fox becomes better defender i.e. his time in Kentucky. But his 25 PPG is something Fred will never give us. Rockets having three players who average +20 PPG is much better than two players who average 20 PPG. It's just math.

Again, this topic is moot + it was my fault for reviving it.

LOL please don't say what you said and call that math, it's disrespectful.

Fox doesn't average 25 PPG? Jalen doesn't average 21 PPG? Alp doesn't average 19 PPG?

Or do you dispute that Fred is averaging 14 PPG which is +10 PPG less than Fox? Addition + subtraction is basic math.

You could get 10 guys who average 20 ppg, you're not gonna score 200.....

    5 straight L’s
    Zero moves
    2 useless second rounders

Stone is a joke. Buddy thinks he’s Presti trying to hoard picks except Presti does it better and does it because he doesn’t need to add talent.

Stone dropped the ball by not making a move. The Rockets get exposed against the zone, and our late-game execution is a mess. I have zero trust in us when the game is on the line.

We do not have that closer!

Stone has done a really great job drafting and assembling talent. This trade deadline was a disappointment though. There were some good role players who could have helped us but Stone chose to do nothing of value.

We have been one of the league's best teams until the past 5 games. With a few smart moves, we could have been a competitive playoff team this season. There is no guarantee that we'll improve next season. The past five games have shown that we're not very good when Fred VanVleet doesn't play. What if he declines next year? Injuries happen. Even if they don't, there will still be a lot of other great teams to compete with next season. The Thunder are a juggernaut. The Spurs will enter contender mode next season. After next season, we won't be able to afford the contracts of all our young talent.

You only get so many bites at the apple. Sitting this one out was a weak move.

The FO thinks they are done... they r so pleased with their draft pix that they think they can just wait for them to mature and then we will be collecting trophies...
    that aint how it works....
Theres a million things that can wrong on the way to potential coming to fruition... thats why u always gotta be working it...
Imo, depending on who u give up, throwing a KD or even Butler into the mix gives u an actual shot this year... or u can just wait and hope for the future...

Harden set this franchise back when he left. Our reputation was terrible after the Harden era

People bringing up Fox, he was not an option. He only wanted to play for the Spurs. So it's irrelevant what he could or could not do here, he was not coming here.

Durant, we have no idea what the Suns wanted for him.

Booker, again, we have no idea what they asked for him. If they wanted to gut our core absolutely not. What has Booker done for the Suns lol?

What are we even arguing here?
