That was all before the days of the financial crisis and Dodd-Frank. Back then, the Fed more or less didn't loan to banks since back then the discount rate from the Fed was higher than the federal funds rate. Combine that with limits on what banks can do with Dodd-Frank and banks just aren't as desperate for deposits anymore.
Lol, I normally don't trade before/during FOMC... Got burned knowing better/getting greedy. Screwed up the entrance/exit leading up to it by like seconds on SPY Calls went up 50-60% in 30 seconds to down 20-30% overall.... I got greedy on selling/scaling and paid for it. Ohhh well, wasn't crazy amount lost just sucked. That's funny on monster comment though, I wouldn't say that - but he definitely stalled it seemed like - so possible troll, but I'm sure that can't be a fun job.
Made up for my silly FOMC mistake, TSLA Puts printed 200%, made a little off Disney Puts 50% but cut way early. This guy here will post levels to watch for ahead of open: https://twitter.com/TheRealNasa00?t=b1Fap6PvZYaE-oG1FnGR4Q&s=09 I don't recommend jumping in without your own DD but he'll post ahead of open and has a great record on what to look for on the day. If you ever see a discord invite take it, it's free and lots of educational material/very active chat. They don't handhold but do really good alerts.and answer questions too, honestly a lot better than some of the paid trash people have sent me that they actually pay for. I'm sure he'll eventually stop but I like getting ideas on levels if I am behind on my own DD, again don't just blindly jump in, some of these trades are very high risk/reward but I have been impressed so far. I just noticed he doesn't post everything on Twitter On levels... Anyway if it's ever open again I'll try to alert. I don't pay FURUs or recommend you doing that either, but his stuff definitely has given me good setups to look for. Most of the stuff they trade is all open/closed same day, so use cash account if under 25k, because you'll hit PDT fast.
Man, Tesla I was killing it this morning, calls at open (100% in about 10 min and cashed out) then puts afterwards. Then actual work....... Exited puts stupidly early since I wanted to watch in real time and honestly thought it would dip more but then trade more sideways rather than the epic fall. By the time I got back into playing it nearly $179 so I passed. Anyway, I had bought $175p at $0.69...... Those hit for ~$3.90, oh well, always more plays tomorrow. Biggest miss for me this week was COIN, went against better judgment and got a little cooked yesterday, had I stuck to my planned entries on the down and up and not chased had plays that paid 4-500% both ways, sigh....
Tomorrow I'm probably going to look at TSLA/SPY and of course more tech. I'm just trading options and will play either side and close out all EOD unless some random lotto hits. I've been avoiding all ERs, but will play them up to the ER date (sometime before close) just not hold them through close unless it's a lotto type situation, but more times than not the ERs will burn you.
SQQQ RELOADDDDDD time yeeeeehaw. Stocks are too ez. Hopefully 2-3 weeks of healthy reload then lambo to valhalla.
I grabbed some PLTR calls that are FLYING right now. This is ALL fake mid-term pretend peepee games. GOOD LUCK. SQQQ
I have 0 SQQQ calls right now. I was holding calls/shares you name it but sold all calls and over half of my shares starting OCT 31 - ending Nov 2. I sell calls on my current shares. Waiting to gradually accumulate more shares through Dec. If I were to buy SQQ calls right now I wouldn't touch anything until mid-to-late DEC at the earliest. Unless you're trying to day-trade/snipe. Waiting until near close to reload but honestly, might just wait a few until tomorrow or next week. Choppy out there.
