I saw the earnings, but didn't think that would be the sole reason for a 30% pop. I didn't look at any short interest, but maybe everybody just got happy all at once. lol.

what a terrible 2022 for msft, one of the most profitable tech co around, down > 20% in less than 2 mo

MSFT has been one of my core holdings forever; know quite a bit about its fundamentals, which continue to be strong.
the chart screams bullish engulfing pattern, aka, an outside day, on heavy volume.
within the same trading day, it has bounced off the 62% retracement, and then another bounce off 50% retracement, on heavy volume. impressive !
the next target is 32 % retracement at 306

sold a bullish PUT spread, 295/285, using April expiration, collecting $5.2 premium in advance which defines my max risk of $4.8

while AAPL had also bounced off its 62%/50% retracement levels on the same trading day, its trading actions did not show a Bullish engulfing pattern, an outside day, like MSFT.
on Thu, when Wall Street "recovered", AAPL didn't close above the previous day's high; in fact, after 2 consecutive up days, Fri's closing price is still below Wed's high.

my amateurish take is that AAPL is not ready to pop like MSFT, i'll wait a bit

Y’all trusting this bounce? Right now I’m only in AMZN and NVDA. The problem with waiting for clarity is by the time things are clear it’s too late…lol.

Trusting it? Nah. But there are bounces every year for every decade. I'm just looking for good companies for a long-term holds, so I'll buy a chunk here and there. I'm not worried too much about if I got in right at the bottom or not, so I don't mind averaging down. Hopefully not too far down. lol. I just got into NVDA a week or so ago, I think. I kept saying "I should buy it" since it was probably in the $80's. Durr. Finally bought it, now watch it tank.

BTW, WRT NVDA, I've been following the following for the past couple of days. Kind of funny.

    doubled down on MSFT

bought a bullish CALL spread, using July expiration
    • bto 300 strike CALL, sto 315 strike CALL, for a net cost of $7.07

    max risk = $7.07, max profit = $15---risking 1 to win 2.2, i can live w this risk/reward ratio

fwiw, because i already had sold a bullish PUT spread on MSFt, collected a premium of $5.2.
should MSFT trade above $295 by Apr expiration, i get to keep all the premium.
in this scenario, the net/net cost of this new Bullish CALL spread is effectively $1.87 ($7.07 - $5.20),
which makes the risk/reward ratio extremely attractive, risking 1 to win 7.3

SNOW, from >400 on last Thanksgiving to 200 now, has been cut in half.
still it is trading at > 100 times revenue.

    food for thought

i would not look for a quick pop from AMD, as i do for MSFT

while MSFT had an outside day last Wed, a bullish signal where the open/close was outside the previous day's open/close,
AMD just showed the opposite, an inside day, a bearish signal, a bearish hirami candlestick pattern [IMG] , the body of today's candlestick is inside yesterday's, https://www.investopedia.com/terms/b/bearishharami.asp

my amateurish take is that, the most recent uptrend (higher lows), in the near term. will be stalled / reversed,

@adoo thoughts on RTN? too late to jump in? They make both stinger and javelin rockets, besides Ukraine spamming these things, Germany and nato are ramping up spending.
