My friend manually enters trades on Collective2. You can trade anything on the site. Options, Futures, Forex, Stocks etc...

The automated trading is for subscribers basically. You input the trade as a system creator and then the trade is automatically placed in the subscriber account.

The site doesn't really make that very clear now that I look at it.

4.51 on IAG and 10.08 on HIMX, so yes I'm up a bit but the point isn't the value today; it's about there being any kind of shift from its baseline. Sure it's up for the week, but for the month and anything longer it's still down. If it maintains the gain it had today and even reproduces a few modest ones in days to come, then I'll be happy and agree with you that it was the right move. Until then though, this just looks like a regular fluctuation to me.

And seriously are you always going to cite the highest a stock ever hit as evidence you are right? Saying it hit 4.85 today when it's 4.72 now is like saying you always buy at the nadir and sell at the peak. No one can do that.

Can you guys recommend a good forum like CF.net that discusses stocks and investing?

I have little interest/idea about the subject but want to learn more about it seeing as I'm getting older. I'm good with numbers and think a forum and seeing discussion might be a good introduction to the area.

    Thanks

Cprx tumbled huge today on the back of a report that seems largely bogus to me. doesn't impact fundamentals in any way. Huge bargain right now.

robbie what's your call on tesla?

I think TSLA is a $1000/stock and $100B market cap in 7 years........

I assume by following your trading patterns that you are short tesla?

Zacks just changed it from neutral to outperform. Nothing about the company has changed. It has a potassium channel blocker that will be FDA approved for a paraneoplastic syndrome of cancer that almost no one suffers but will also be used off label for myasthenia gravis, a much more common condition. It's already approved in the EU, there is no question it will be approved here around 2015-2016. It also has GABA based drugs in the pipeline that will be used to treat all sorts of psych conditions, probably their real moneymakers long term.

The stock tumbled off one a single street.com article from a bitter journalist saying their immediate drug (current fast tracked in phase 3 trials) already is used and dispensed by another mom and pop pharmacy. As you may or may not know, this is kind of illegal unless theyre marketing it as a supplement--even if they give it out for free there needs to be oversight regarding potential risks of using the med. i dont think the journalist realized this. Naturally, an FDA investigation into the mom and pop pharmacy was started today once the news leaked.

This is about as close to a non story as you can get. Apparently something like this was leaked last year too. Market manipulators are just using it to spook the biotech speculators into dumping it off so they get back in and make a cool steal on it short term. I remain long on the company but will probably buy a few more shares while its low.

Final disclaimer: don't take my advice for gospel, I just started investing last month.

Made money short TSLA on one of those pullbacks in there.

Are you still having trouble understanding that I am a shorter term trader for the most part?

And you should work on your math. Your "Rice education" is really showing. If the float was still the same they would be $823 at 100b mkt cap. If they issue more shares then the price will be lower.

Longer term I would like to buy TSLA but on a pullback. It makes little sense to buy it here long term and it is underperforming lately which is interesting. I don't think I want to short it though unless it moves past 181 and a 180 breakdown would be a good short. That said it is strong and I'm just not really looking to short.

Actually I stand corrected. The mom and pop pharmaceutical company had FDA oversight to give it out free, but they had never conducted trials on the med. sounds like they were very benevolent in their administration of the medicine, but still now that CPRX is marketing it for official approval, they are behind the 8 ball. They have their own phase 2 trial going but there's no chance it has to catch up to Firdapse. CPRX will win market exclusivity on this one for being an orphan drug and gaining approval first. I guess lack of expertise in this area is still enough to cause a blip downward. Enter at your own risk. I will.

Tell me you're kidding about it making little sense to buy here. Earnings are in 2 weeks, I will bet you the blowout earnings and the stock rises significantly. Musk follows Steve Jobs old MO in that he underpromises and overdelivers.

Many forums already have vin numbers from owners that lead many to believe that the estimates for this quarter may be beat by 1000+ vehicles......

Care to bet we don't see $200+ in the next 3 weeks???

I like TSLA and I think it's a revolutionary product, but they have a LONG way to go to grow into their current valuation. They have production, technology, and distribution hurdles. Remember, they are a car company. They aren't a tech company like they are valued. They are projected to ship 40,000 cars in 2014. They have a $22b mkt cap compared to someone like BMW who has a $58b mkt cap and actually sells like 1.8 million cars a year.

You are right it is hard to bet against situations like this, but their valuation is ridiculous and comparing it to AMZN is not the same.

And no I'm not making a silly bet. If you want to speculate on TSLA's stock price then feel free to buy the Nov 8 expiration calls. The 200's look like they are going for about $7.75. Or you can do a Nov 16 expiration 200/220 call spread for like $4.75. Not too bad of a trade since there is so much volatility priced in for earnings.

I hope you are right and I hope they do blow past 200 and create some good trading opportunities.
