I don't think you guys want to hear what I think, as I have been pretty consistent about our lack of leadership for the last several years. DD
Where were you to praise Francis for his brilliant games this preseason? I really wish we could end this "one bad game=scrap everything and start over" talk.
The one thing that has made me upset is the fact that we started the preseason with the motion offense. Since the first couple games, we have reverted back to the ISO offense. Last night was a killer. I cant count how many times we came down the court and made 1 or 0 passes before the shot. Its a horrendous offense and will lead us nowhere. I think we will be okay though. We have enough talent to get us out of trouble every now and then.
Steve and Cat won't get any better in terms of their athletic abilities or shooting skills. The only things that can grow in them are mental things such as better defense reading and better decision making with the ball. I am not that against that ISO.. offense. Especially in the fourth quarter we need that from Cat or Steve. But before any offensive scheme was set up, it would be better to swing the ball a bit to more players instead of the scenarios now: We got a defensive rebound and the ball was given to the hands of Steve or Cat, then these guys will hold the ball, practice their dribbling skills and shoot. Other players most likely won't be able to get the ball back again. It looks just ugly to me even it is at working. How many times have we seen this? I think Rudy's coaching style has something to do with this repetitive pattern. As a coach, you can't always sugarcoat things, sometimes you have to let guys know, especially they are your court leaders, just like Phil Jackson on Kobe. Do it(ISO) twice. shame on players, do it three times, shame on coach
Hahaha, this is the best excuse I've seen so far. IT'S THE BIG GUY'S FAULT! QUIT BEING SO TALL AND GOOD. YOU ARE A DISTRACTION TO THE TEAM. Trade him.
Yup......couldn't agree more. If this ISO crap continues, there must be movement and the way Mobley and Stevie have long term contracts, we may see Rudy gone. Maybe bumped down to assistant coach. Why is it that many players wait 'til they've been in the League for several years before they begin to understand how to actually play the game? Some never do.
