Gettinbanned didn't get banned for having a wrong opinion or trolling, those aren't the main reasons. He's literally asking for it and he's got his wish.

I don't really think the two are the same. If I told someone to shoot me, and they had a gun to my forehead, they'd probably shoot me. He told Clutch to ban him, and since Clutch can, he did. I also wouldn't say that word you used to Clutch as well. My rule is don't get the boss mad. (sadly, I corrected him one time. So I broke my own rule. )

Yao Ming will make a <i>killing</i> off Francis/Mobley penetration and can score on his own to boot. I honestly have never been this excited about a Rockets team. In 1996 we assembled a team that I felt had 2 years to win a championship - now, they are in the midst of creating a team that could be <I>very</i> good for a <i>very</i> long time. It all meshes perfectly - the flamboyant, high-energy backcourt with the reserved big man who defers for the benefit of the team. Oh yea, GB - stop coming here and talking to us about "Eddy and Tyke". Frankly, noone cares.
GB needed to change that out-dated nickname anyhow, so why not just ban him and get it over and done with.

I think it's the fact that he obnoxiously challenged Clutch to ban him that really irritated Clutch. Add that onto his record of trolling and antagonism of Rocket fans, and you have sufficient reason for banning.

Gettingbanded is not that stupid afterall. Banning him is an easy cop-out for him. Rather than admitting he was wrong, he's looking for a easy exit. He probably will sign in with another name and start bashing MING again.
well, I duno if he trolled before or not, I just feel everyone should be able to state their option..I am a Chinese and yes, I am the biggest Yao's fan, I won't even know this fourm if Houston did not draft Yao..but I feel that guy had his point, and he did not use any harsh word aginst us. well, that is just my thought..
Did everyone forget Ming is a YOUNG man? Didn't Eddie Griffin just go through a really plain, non sensational year? Do we FREAK out on HIM?............er...........NO!! Yao is no different. Frankly he has LESS experience with legitimate sized competition. He hasn't even filled out as a man yet. Men tend to not realize their frame untill about 25. He will get some experience holding the ball up when he is bumrushed. I mean.......How HIGH do you need to hold the ball in CHINA, when doubble teamed (as a 7'5" guy)? He just needs to get a *feel* for the level of play. People diss him and he stays humble and FRANKLY it is insulting to hear so many people judge and grade him. If he walked around like Hideki Irabu, I understand. But here we have a modest, decent hard working talent that WANTS to LEARN........... Cut him the SAME slack we cut Eddie Grif..... OUT, V
I have a test for you, if you have a job or work for somebody. How about going up to your boss and having a disagreement with him. And then, stick out your tongue at him and say to his face "I dare you to fire me!" And see what happens. I guarantee you that 9 times out of 10 you'll be out of a job and looking like an @ss.

Why don't don't you just peruse GB's old posts and then you will understand why banning him was long overdue. These admins have never been into censuring thoughtful discussion. In fact, the moderators of this board are the most principled and patient board moderators I have ever encountered. This board gets its energy from differing opinion. The moderators have yet to ban someone for merely disagreeing or having a different point of view. Trolls and complete ***holes get banned. I, personally, would have banned GB a very long time ago. Trolls--no matter how polite and eloquent they are--damage the integrity this small community.
You know whats so cool about that statement? It not only describes Ming (which is good enough as it is), but it can be used to describe Eddie Griffin as well! Two big guys that can absolutely wreak havoc on the defensive side!
