Sane, sorry but I don't get your argument. You dont think a team could have 3 max players surrounded by role players? Why? Another thing, as lee said every negative statement you make about SAR could be said of Francis. Simple fact is that SAR would be a huge improvement over anyone we have playing the F now. We would not be adding his salary to what we have now because we have to match his salary to get him.

    Houston trades:
SG Cuttino Mobley (18.1 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 3.0 apg in 41.9 minutes)
SF Glen Rice (9.2 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 1.3 apg in 27.9 minutes)

    Houston receives:
    PF Shareef Abdur-Rahim (20.2 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 2.9 apg in 45 games)
Change in team outlook: -7.1 ppg, +0.6 rpg, and -1.4 apg.

    TRADE ACCEPTED

Thats better than what SA is offering then we could trade Griffin or preferably MoT for a decent defensive playing SG. This would be a much better team than we have now.

SAR is not worth max contract and we will not be able to make further changes to improve our team if we take his contract.

Well, whats what improvements are we going to make anyway. When Francis contract kicks in, and with Taylor ridiculous contract, we are stuck.

Certainly we can make changes, with Rice's expiring contract etc. EG's, Mobley's and Cato's contracts (not that I want to trade them) are also reasonable enough and have good trade value. But if we commit all our cap room to a 1 or 2 players, we would be really stuck. SAR's contract is simply too big and he's not worth it.

Offensively Shareef would be able to score against any 4's but his defense is not that good in my opinion.
