Easy on the colorful language....younger Rockets fans do come in and take a peek from time-to-time.;)

I agree about the dribbling but Mooch is the worst. He just slows down the tempo to a snail's pace. That is not the tempo you want with a run and gun type team.

If anybody should dribble with the ball, it should be Francis. The ball should be in his hands everytime he is in the game.
Cat needs to continue to learn to move without the ball and get open for shots.
Mooch needs to watch the movie "Hoosiers" and follow Gene Hackman's advice about three passes before you shot. If he followed that line of thinking, he would have to pass sooner because he would not have enough time to pass three times with 2 seconds on the clock. :D :D :D

Francis did the same thing in the All-Star game. Could nobody else score then either?

I'm bringing this topic back from the grave. I was with the Dallas Rocketball Association and we all agreed....STEVE WAS DRIBBLING WAYYY TOO MUCH AND HOGGING THE DAMN BALL!!

So what if he got his 39 points....did you see the offense?!?! The majority time when they were on offense, Steve would get the ball, drive in thinking it was 1 on 5 and try to create points while the others just stood their watching.

What happened to the 5 MAN offense!?! I thought everyone was suppose to get involved! Isn't Steve a point guard??? Rudy needs to step up and tell this team to run together and get EVERYONE INVOLVED IN THE OFFENSE!!! He needs to shoot less and pass more. Swing the ball and get people open w/ his penetration!!!

I thought I was the only one that noticed this...

Instead of strengthen your weaknesses, you just milk you strengths.

Over and over and over and over again.

    Predictable.

It was such a waste to see Francis get the ball, call his own number out, and create his own play.....WHILE EVERYONE IS STANDING THERE WATCHING!!! No passing at all, and just looking to score....

Yeah, I know. The hardest thing for some people to understand is:

Even if we would have won the game, it still would have been the
wrong way to win the game. It would have hurt us in the long
    run to win that way.

They need to get rid of that habit of just using a one-man offense and have everyone watching from the 3-point line. And when Francis does his thing and tries to score, no one is set to rebound! I hope this crap that Francis is doing doesn't turn out to what Iverson is doing in Philly....

It's so easy to point the finger, and say he did it!

Lets not forget that Francis was the shooting guard tonight, and that the team is still run by RudyT; if you haven't caught on yet Rudy most likely gave Francis the green light since no one other than the Cat was doing a decent job offensively.

I understand what your saying to the fullest, but I rather win a bad and ugly game than lose the most beautiful game ever played in the NBA.

I am pointing the finger at him! He ran a ONE-MAN OFFENSE!! He didn't swing the ball around to get people open!! He took it on his own to PAD HIS OWN STATS!! He needs to break that old habit!

How many games have you seen in your life?!?! You think that this game we saw today is the most BEAUTIFUL GAME PLAYED IN THE NBA? WTF?!!?

This would work for a team that already knows how to play as a TEAM.

But this is not the case yet.

If you would rather win an ugly game, then you would just be putting off
    the inevitable later; struggle.

You must learn how to play within the system NOW, even
if that means losing NOW. This will pay-off later. This requires dicipline though.

Once you achive the solidarity, then winning ugly is OK, now and then (like the Kings).

    Guys,

First, there's a long-standing tradition around here of not bringing up ancient threads.

Secondly, you can pick one of the other "Steve sucks and dribbles too much" threads to bash Steve in. We've got about at least 3 or 4 of them going now. Try using some other good cliches, too... like "there's no 'I' in Team". Haven't seen that one tonight... :)
