frustrating ending... but it was a hell of a game though, right?

14 down, who here didn't think deep down that the rockets would just wilt and go away? but they showed heart and crawled out on the backs of some really underappreciated players.

there will always be the next game.

p.s. hell yeah boki vs. malone!!!

One, and the end of Game 1, he passed the ball to an open teammate and TRUSTED him to make the shot. Brick.

Two, he took the shots himself at the end of game 3 and carried us to a win.

Three, he took and made the shot to tie it at the end of game 4.

He is averaging nearly 9 assists for the series.

Xen, you REALLY REALLY hate Steve.

And when someone else on the team decides to step up and raise their level of play, then maybe you can say something.

I don't hate him personally. I just hate him as a basketball player, the same way I hate Kobe and Shaq. The only difference is I have to at least respect the fact kobe and shaq have game. If I want to see Francis's game, I can just tune into any And1 game. The SOFs have got their wish. Francis is playing ok this series and has taken it upon himself to be "the man." However, this series should prove that this team can't win a championship with him being the man since they are down 3-1 and are on the verge of a quick 1st round exit. Francis has the nice stats this series. I don't deny that. I just see the 3-1 defecit and say, yup nice stats, but where are the wins? It's just like Tmac with the magic this year. He put up great stats, but his team won 19 games.

    dconver, and Xeno,

Say what you want about Steve, but if the rest of the team had stepped up their game the way Steve stepped up his, we'd be on top in this series.

Steve put us on his back and carried us in that fourth quater. Your gonna hate because he made a couple mistakes and had a no call on a game winning shot?

When the crowd was about ready to collapse; Steve came out of the timeout and gave us something to cheer about and believe. He drove and made a thunderous dunk that got the whole arena shaking. Then the tying jumper. Steve showed heart, something I wish more posters would show.

I for one, take heart over perfection anyday.

Have you actually watched a playoff game? The role players, Jackson, Mobley, Taylor have all struggled with their shot. Steve can only pass them the ball, which he has done, but he can't shoot for them. Yao hasn't done much of anything either. To place blame on him soley is ridiculous. Especially comparing him with a team that won only 19 games.

Of course I've watched all the games. I saw him dribble the series away on live tv just like everyone else did.:p Cat is also to blame and I think both him and steve need to go. I don't put as much blame on Cat because he's francis sidekick. It's like blaming Robin when Batman does something wrong. Other players need to play better as well, but if you want to be "the man", then you got to take the blame for the losses as well.

Yao is playing ok in this series, but needs to play better as well. However, Yao being "the man" during the regular season got this team its first playoff birth in 5 years. He did that despite having Francis go through his worst season ever. The difference is Francis is being "the man" in the post season and Yao is only playing ok. The team can win with Yao playing great and francis doing ok, but can't win when it's reversed. That is only one of many reasons why this team doesn't need francis and a trade in the offseason would be best for this franchise.

Do u think Steve can do it all by himself when others, besides the once in a while show from JJ, Cat on offense? those 2 are streaky..... really streaky.... and hasn't really been on a good streak for a whole game just yet......

no one player can do it all by themselves.... not even MICHEAL JORDAN

They have given Yao every chance to be "The Man" and he ain't getting it done.

Yao had 15 shots in 34 minutes. Steve had 14 in 52 minutes. He also only had 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 0 blocks with 3 TO's.

No other player is going to improve those numbers but him. Every other Rocket regular has had stretches of games where they played really great. Yao hasn't. He's been solid, but not great during any stretch.

I believe when Yao is 'The Man', our 3pt % are one of the best in the league with Cat and JJ making 160+ each......

now in playoffs, when SF is 'The Man', our 3pt % gotto be near to the bottom of playoffs teams...... are they getting different shots? nope.... but they are just not knocking them down like they did in the season.......

dun just think and watch 'The Man'.... think about the play of our role players as well......

    Good post, Glyyde.

Game 5 will come down to 3 point shooting. The team that has the advantage there will probably win that game.
