what's wrong with being a....oh ****...never mind Im gonna put that question in my sig as often as I ask it... Dont say it codell.... EDIT: yes, I noticed, thank you very much... this doesnt mean I wont give you crap tho....
If you took the time to notice, for the sake of not having to take cr ap from you anymore, I changed my sig thank you very much.
Why would you play Steve if the game doesn't matter and he is sore? It most likely is nothing, so why put him on the floor to aggravate even the smallest of "injuries" (I hated to even write that lol!)? Steve probably needs a break anyway after going from not being on the court to Westside pickups to training camp without a break. Give him the night off and lets prepare for the season. Also, this might give us the chance to see whether or not Tierre has a shot or if Tito is going to get the job b/c of his contract.
Why force him to play in a game that does not matter? Think how much better he will be when he hits the court again. Every one here know how good of a player he is but even more how much he loves the game and especially his team. You can rest assured if this where a regular season game he would lead his troops on to the court.
Methinks A-train be a wee bit too defensive. He just can't come to grip that Stevie sux!! Seriously, I'm not too concerned about Steve's potential for injury. He keeps himself in tremendous shape. If something freaky happens, well there's nothing you can do about it. I'm glad he doesn't throw hmself into the lane as much as he used to, that scared me. I hope someday he can develop more of a killer midrange game like Sam Cassell so that he wont have to mix it up with the big trees in the post.
I do not think many people realize the importance of that. Not only for Steve, but for every player to devleop the mid range porttion of their play opens up things on the offense end. Slashers and long range shooters are good, but the mid range is critical if a team is to be consistent, and it is something this team lacked last year but seems to be making a strong effort to become better at.
I second that! Seriously though.... Dakota- DO NOT GET SO DAMN WORKED UP ABOUT AN OPINION OR QUESTION. Is it 'bashing' when people say that Iverson has had injury issues? Does anyone think he is anything other than one tough SOB??? No. I think TheHorns has a valid point. I never felt as though this was a bashing thread. I think there is something to be concerned about, but when? Well if he begins missing games due to his ankle. Which brings me to what I believe initiated this thread: The end of last season we heard that and it led to the surgery. The question as to when we worry is valid. I do not believe there is a corrective procedure for tendonitis, and that makes me worry the most as its known to be a lingering, nagging injury.

But, chalk me up for disagreeing with CK again, like it means anything though, given my history. I honestly believe Steve Francis has a midrange game from the gods...and, that is pagan gods, specifically, gods of the corn...the cornfield gods who watch over the Illinois, Iowa, and Indiana courts and make the sea of corn go ssshhwwwooooo and nets go sssswwish. They are my pagan gods, so I hope I didn't offend anyone whether directly--or even those who get offended vicariously through other people's PC, like the way Yetti gets offended.
midrange game from the gods? truly? I've seen a lot of improvement since his rook year, but I still think there's more room for him to grow in that regards, specifically in times in which he hesitates and some of his decision making. Mobes has a killer midrange game. I love how he can create his own shots from just about anywhere. Course the shots don't always go in and he makes some stupid decisions with the ball at times, but so? Small price to pay for a creator. I would defer to you for the midrange assessment though, as you have obviously seen a lot more of the Rocks than I have.
CK I'm basing it on Year 2, and I'm referring more about his ability to nail the shot, and discounting his decision making in not using the midrange more often. I think this year he will milk his midrange more, and we kinda already saw that in preseason game one. re: last season...I am allowing Francis some slack from the early aggressive trapping and zoning the PnR and from the shoulder injury late last season, because that shoulder was a lot worse than anyone thought.
He has shown to be an effective mid range player however, whether its due to scheme or individual styles-- niether he nor several other players on this team do not seem to use it during games. Of all people, KT, Mo T have shown it most in games. If SF & Cat were to go to it a little more this season, the team as a whole would greatly benefit from it!
We don't need to be alarm with the tendonitis issue, I'ts just a preaseason game let guys coming off the bench get more time to play the pro's. Rest the foot STEVIE you needed that!!
All this hype for nothing? Steve said in the Chronicle today that he would have played this game if it was not preseason. Thats good enough for me.
I remember when a certain other someone started a Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley bashing thread simply because he came up with pithy nicknames for them.
I think that has a lot to do with it. That night many of us were wondering "why do that in the pre-season?"
