There goes Clutch's bi-weekly shot at Francis...

but who can blame him? I think the deal is only fair if we throw in Reese + a future 5th round pick!

    :D :D :D

Just a heads up....Relativist and fba34 are referencing Iverson's quotes from a couple of seasons ago when being grilled by the media about why he missed practice and what example he was setting for his team.

Disclaimer----I'm sure they, along with Clutch, Jeff, and anyone else associated with this board have ever in the past, present, or future condoned missing practice for reasons other than personal emergencies. :)

Anyone who gave me shyte after reading my Orlando preview feel like speaking up? For those who may have forgotten, I suggested that, shock horror, Steve Francis may not be the sort of player to build a franchise around.

You're not the first to suggest this, nor will you be the last.

I didn't imply that I was the first to suggest this. Yet, more than any other article, I got more negative feedback from the ORL/Francis set than any other. I could have laid out 1200 words about how God/Allah/Ray Charles couldn't guard the screen/roll, and nary an email would have meandered my way. But Steve Francis (not Marbury, Carter, Kobe ... or any other big-market 'stars') seems to strike a nerve.

I always got the feeling he was writing with his right hand while typing, and dribbling with his left while at his computer desk. I mean, everyone knows he can't dribble with his right ...

Yes, it is strange, since the Magic are currently in a playoff position and capable of getting home court advantage. Last season, McGrady was given that label after the team started off horrendously and never had a chance to fully turn it around. To me, that makes Steve's crap that much worse.

i love how weisbrod and francis were contiunally taking swipes at the rockets the first few months when they started out hot and we didnt. bigmouths with total lack of class

the rockets on the other hand kept their collective mouths shut and went about their buisness. no rockets are saying anything negative about orlando now, even though it would be justified after all that the magic said. total class, professionalism and character.

that is the difference b/t us and them

Didn't you write they wouldn't make the playoffs and win only a few more than 30 games.

I don't recall doing that. And I didn't write the SI season previews.

edit: only because you edited yours, I wanted to stay hip and keep with the rhythm.

Yeah you recycled a bunch of stock bbs posts and superficial criticism. You looked rather foolish at the beginning of the season and were not heard from, now you look a lot more prescient and are crowing about it (I would do the same).

Shocking to think over the course of an 82-game season that there would be both highs and lows, isn't it?

    Dear Sir,

Stevie will not be able to attend due to unforseen events. Please excuse him from today's practice.

Remember all of those Orlando media and writer who would quickly bash T-Mac and the Rockets for its slow start and claimed that they had the bettet part of the trade? Why haven't they talked about their ordeals lately? They sure have been very quiet...

Why is this strange. I'm not making a judgement or anything on Steve or T-Mac. I'm just saying that more and more this is becoming a bad situation in Orlando and Steve is drifting away from the team. You can absolutely say the same thing happened to T-Mac last year.

Francis at it again - Misses Flight

I know he was here in Houston at the begining of the week not sure if he went to the all star festivities but again he misses his flight and gets fined by the team lol

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3325/news

Feb 22 Francis missed the Magic's scheduled workout on Monday and will be fined an undisclosed amount, but is expected to be in the starting lineup Tuesday night when Orlando plays Indiana, the Orlando Sentinel reports. Francis called earlier in the day and reported that he missed his flight to Orlando. "It's disappointing -- very disappointing that he's not here," coach Johnny Davis said at RDV Sportsplex. "Make no mistake about that. There's no getting around it. He should have been here. Everyone else was."
