The best possible news of the off-season would be that we traded Jalen Green and Jock Landale for SGA. Then traded Alpi and Dillon Brooks for Jokic. The Stevens Adams news is pretty great though so I'll let it go....
This likely means they have a deal worked out with FVV, because they can't pick up his contract at $45M and trade him just to bring back $45M in salary and pay LT penalties on it. Running back a first round losing team. That's what Stone calls a success.
I was thinking it might be asking 15-16 million. Would have done 4 years with last year a team option to sway him to stay. The fact that we got him for 13 for three is awesome. Hope that means they arent swinging for the fences and just trying to keep the core intact while adding a few different players to make the complete.
Smaller moves that make sense, well done. It's fair for both parties, he stays at a fair rate but gets a bit more security in the deal. Steve actually had an argument as our most impactful player in the playoffs by impact stats. Great teammate and supportive of the young guys succeeding as well, glad he's back.
If you cut him, you are still over the cap, so you can only replace him with an MLE player (which I think is still a possible upgrade), but I doubt Stone does that.
I don't see Tate and Holiday staying unless it is for some minimum deal so new names should be expected. Jeff Green is in the air but I don't think he is a priority. (still as trade fillers) And also guys like McVeigh and N'Faly are exchangeable. Let's wait what happens with KD first.
I'm not giving up hope until June 25th at 7:00pm. If the Rockets run back the same starting backcourt I will scream!
Great deal. 13M per is a steal in my opinion.......less impactful players are getting paid way more these days.
Decline the options of FVV and Holiday and the Rockets are under the cap though, and you also have Landale and Jeenathan on non-guaranteed contracts that could be cut.
