Just to be clear. I love the Adams signing. I'll be happy with FVV signing at a lower amount than I think he will. I think FVV is way undervalued on this board. FVV had an incredibly bad scoring efficiency year, but he fills a lot of other holes on the team.
I think most people don’t mind FVV re-signing as long as it’s cost-appropriate and with a lower usage.
I’m probably the biggest detractor of FVV, but if he would sign for no more than 20m and agree to be a backup (Ime has to agree as well) then that would be great. FVV would be an excellent backup pg.
He's already low usage (in regards to how many FGAs and assist attempts, but not minutes. Minutes will require someone to play better than him as a PG). The Rockets will sign him to what they think is cost-appropriate, which is likely higher than what most here think.
Collin Murray-Boyles on Steven Adams: "…the strongest—he's insanely strong. My wrists are sore right now, trying to box him out... his strength is, I didn't think it was like that... I was asking him what is routine is mid-game. It's insane, and you have to worry about Sengun, and KD, it's crazy"
His impact for a backup center is ridiculous! In 24 mins a game he's averaging 8pts and 11 rebs (rounding up) and shooting 67% FGs and 92% FTs--insane!!! Love the guy, just goes in and does his job at a very high level.
Fun fact: Currently the gap in offensive rebound % between league leader Steven Adams and #2 Jalen Duren is larger than the gap between Duren and #35 Kyle Filipowski.
