I posted a little bit on this subject in another thread. I just dont watch ESPN these days at all. Not even sportscenter. But when the Rockets were playing the Suns....I cant miss that. It was a good game, well presented....but then halftime come along. Since when did yellling stuff like "KG IS MY MAN!" become indepth discussion about the game? The whole halftime was taken up by crap like this....at one point they were all so busy yelling stuff out that you couldnt understand any of them! Infact, when the second part of halftime was taken up by ads and the wonderfull "Welcome back to the NBA halftime show.....well be right back after some more ****ing ads!" I was actually thankfull I didnt have to listen to those four morons!
I just sent this email to Mike Lupica. mike@lupica.com Mr. Lupica, I just finished watching today's edition of the Sports Reporters. I was happy to see you jump in and correct Stephen A. Smith and his use of the word "regress". However, I was stunned that neither you nor Mr. Ryan stepped in to correct Mr. Smith when he said the Chargers should have attempted the overtime field goal on the "3rd down" so if the rookie missed it he could "try again". In fact, he said it twice. It's my understanding that the only scenario that situation would work is if the snap or hold was botched and no field goal was attempted. I think Mr. Smith needs to realize that just because he yells his opinions it doesn't necessarily make him right. It's quite obvious he should keep his opinions to basketball because he was in over his head today. It'll be interesting to see if any of those guys respond. I may send one to Bob Ryan if I get the time.
AWESOME SITE!!! From this article: CHECK THE STORE!!! I want "The Brushback Aircraft Carrier". This definitely removes some of the sting of Beltran's snub.
Dude is really annoying, who does he think he is? He was acting like Simon from American Idol during the whole Dream Job thing. What a tool. Him and Salisbury should be locked in a cage together.
Somehow I received this reply to your post: "Listen, if you're going to quote a whole article and then post, you've got to post something meaningful. You've got to post something that is worthy of being read after quoting a full article. You're talking about quoting an entire article from beginning to end. You're talking about quoting a multiple paragraphs with multiple points and thoughts. You're talking about quoting words like 'regress' or 'digress' and trying to use them in a sentence even if you don't know if it's the right context. You're talking about forming an opinion, developing an argument and stating your points clearly, arrogantly and loudly where everyone can hear it! Only stupid people don't these things and they end up becoming tremendous disappointments to society as a whole. You haven't shown that you have the ability to do these things so you have no chance whatsoever of being a good poster and your life will end up being a huge catastrophe. Steven A. Smith"
Smith is getting torn up at a sports journo site I frequent, a lot of jealous types who were just waiting for him to trip up. TV was the worst thing to happen to SAS...
He's the same one who said that Yao is the second coming of Shawn Bradley before the draft. I laughed at the idea of Yao being a #1 pick. ESPN has alot of annoying personalities.
Me and a buddy of mine used to make fun of him at our Military School. We would watch late night fox sports, and he was on there. Looking r****ded as ever, led to many a great joke from me and my buddy about this idiot.
Screamin’ A Smith is such a moron. I’m glad to know that I wasn’t the only bothered by him being on the Sports Reporters. I hope he never make another appearance on the show because it just bring down one of the few quality shows left on ESPN.
If he was a sports news anchor for the nartional news network like NBC or ABC, he will get the boot as soon as he opens his loud mouth, but since ESPN is pure entertainment now he's the prefect fit for them. Sadly, thats why they got rid of Aldridge for A . Smith.
