Spot on The organization didn't do anything to make McLady look bad. In fact Les took up for him alot more than I would have done. McLady made things turn out this way when he decided to not do his rehab in the offseason. If I were Les or Morey I would be pi**ed & to think they could have traded McLady this offseason not knowing that McLady wasn't being a professional (doing his rehab) would not help my mood if I was the Rox brass. If you want to get in a bad mood think about how Billups & Prince would look on this team.
exactly what ive been saying all this time. tmac wanted to rest and get better but RA and DM kept forcing him to play. and while he played injured, he gets shopped behind his back. wth? he got injured playing for the team and kept playing injured because the GM and coach asked him, and while he sucked it up and played (probably making the injury worse), he was being shopped behind his back? i for one, would believe tmac is done with morey. he may still consider sticking around for les, but he's done with morey. he's gonna start thinking about himself from now on, get that surgery, take the time to get better and showcase himself for 2010 and bolt out of houston.
lol @ new straws for the mcgrady fans! and congrats to mcgrady - you finally found the doc you'd been longing for (well, at least sorta).
I think Stephen A Smith has hit on the nail on this one. for one, I thought Tmac really throwing the organization under the bus by annoucing to the public that he needs a surgery done. This pretty much scared off any protential taker for tmac in trade. As Doc river has said, Tmac is mad but for what reason? Tmac is upset that his teammates, the fans, and the management all thought that he should be playing thru his pains and start acting like a 22 mils player. Ron is asking for an extension, whoever can and willing to pay him will get him. Obiously, Artest and Tmac is having bad blood. We see this in Alston's trade as he now got shipped. Don't forget Alston has called out on Tmac too. Chances of Ron staying is slim. Yao, well he has turned down two extensions from rockets already. which means that Yao is also keeping his options open.
So I guess it wasnt Morey and Adelman who kept saying that Tmac's not injured and all the doctors said that he needs to just play through the pain? And because he kept asking to have time off to rest his knee, all the fans think he's a wuss because he cant play because of the pain? And because of a legitimate injury, he's playing bad out there and everyone's saying he's done, and wants him to get traded. So i guess the org had nothing to do with that? All through that time, i havent heard Morey and RA speaking out in support of Tmac. Do you guys have any quotes of them saying so? eh, if the tmac haters can twist all the facts just to justify their hatred for tmac, why cant we 'apologists' grasp for straws defending him?
He played fine last year with EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM....... Don't sugar coat it, the organization finally got tired of him whining, taking time off, and forcing them to cover up for his issues. Tmac may get surgery, but it is ELECTIVE surgery there are multiple ways to rehab the knee, but sense he has never done ANY of them.....I am not surprised his knee has not gotten better. DD
and who's to say that the knee has not degenerated by playing through it last year and playing through it now? all that's been said is that there's no changes after the surgery. who's to say the surgery actually worked except removing loose particles. how about the underlying injury? i personally would like to know what the T-2 MRI machine came up with. it was after this was taken that tmac announced he wanted a surgery. im not sugarcoating anything. im saying it as it is. what's the org done in support of mcgrady? that they allowed tmac to rest on back to backs and get time off? that was when tmac begged them to and after he played horribly because of the injuries. they sat him not for mcgrady, but they finally realized that he's not playing good basketball. why cant you consider that your all mighty morey made a bad decision in how he handled things? he may be great at stats, but you guys forget how he sucks at handling people. or do you forget how jvg was treated last year? looks to me, that for DM, his players are assets. not people. if it werent for Les, i seriously believe even Yao would be traded by DM.
TMAC said it wasn't worse, that it was the same...... They paid him $21 million bucks to play the game, to come into camp IN SHAPE ready to go, what Tmac did was ignore rehab and come into camp fat and out of shape on an already gimpy knee. The organization let him SIT OUT training camp and come on in the season, and Tmac was dissappointed, so he decided to shut it down...not because of pain, but because he was dissappointed in his play....oh screw it....you should know the rest if you don't you aren't really listening or paying attention anyway. I never said he didn't make a mistake, but I for one am glad they are calling out his candy arse, he has been coddled enough.......Tmac needs tough love, not a hug, this is not kindergarten, it is life, he needs to man up, and start taking his career seriously. If that means microfracture...then by all means go get it the team is better without him anyway. DD
First of all, there's way too much drama, 'what-if', and guessing in these posts below, but let's start, shall we? How about the Rockets doctors? Other doctors? The recent MRIs? They brought him to the team. They pay him 20-something mil a year. What else do you want them to do? I'm not just being argumentative. They pay him for a service, one that the fans enjoy, one that he doesn't have to perform right now. He's getting paid 20-something mil to do nothing right now. Let that sink in and then think about what they've done for him. Drama drama drama...guess guess guess... Again...drama drama drama...a little exageration I don't at all try to guess what kind of pain Tracy McGrady is in and whether or not he should or should not sit out/have surgery/etc. What I do believe is that this team/organization should have been and should be consulted through the whole process. They should be informed every step of the way and allowed to give their input into the situation regardless of whether or not Tracy wants to hear it. They deserve that much. They deserve better than hearing about it on the news and they deserve better than a split-second decision by Tracy to have a surgery done that couldn't have possibly (at this point) been recommended by more than one doctor. That's all I'm saying. Now if Tracy comes back with some kind of proof from the T2 'Judgment Day' MRI of his, and the team accepts it and it's clear he needs it, who's to argue with him? I don't think any of us wish harm or bad things on Tracy, whatever happens. Tracy, get healthy, but be professional about it. Sorry for the rant.
it was the same structurally after the surgery was done. but was the knee better? tmac says no, and has gotten worse. but of course, you guys would believe the words of the team doctors who have misdiagnosed before over the guy who actually feels what the knee is going through. training camp? he came from an operation. he was supposed to rehab the knee. how can you come in perfect shape if your knee hasnt gotten better from rehab. he rehabbed the knee (as some poster's sis confirmed), although he did not take it seriously. still, it's training camp. if you're 100% then you go through training camp, but was tmac? he decided not to go through training camp and play his way into shape. was it a smart decision? of course not. but did he made that decision on his own? he has a personal trainer and has the team trainers as well. they make those decisions together. did it work? no. because, obviously, there's still something wrong with the knee. but they kept on insisting based on what the doctors said, that he play through the pain. so far it hasnt worked, and you blame tmac for that? he played like they asked him. and all he go in return were fans calling him names and asking for him to get traded. you kept saying he was disappointed and kept forcing the idea that it's all mental and there's no injury. but now you have the microsurgery option thrown out there that confirms that yes, there's an injury. that's why he's sucked so far. cant a player be disappointed and feel a little bit frustrated that he cant play the way he used to? even wade and amare, sucked and when they came back from surgeries. at least their teams shut them down because playing through it didnt help them get better. why are the rockets adamant that tmac not get that surgery? tmac already wants to have the surgery but the team is holding him off as much as possible. what's up with that? you guys keep bringing the money into it. is it tmac's fault that he was a great talent and he deserved every penny of his contract for the last 4yrs? did he wish to get injured this year and suck the only time he has a legit chance of making out of the first round?
so why is there a microfracture surgery option is there's nothing wrong? dude, youre taking the convo way out of context. i asked what have they done to support tmac being injured this year. guys keep mentioning money. it's a contract made when a player deserved that much money when a team offers it. you pay it even if youre injured or not. take arenas for example. he just made tons of money, wizards could have forced him to play instead of taking another surgery. but the wizards believed in arenas and are sticking with him that's why they agreed to him making that surgery. now, why arent the rockets doing that when tmac is asking to have one? now let that sink in. tmac is mad. he played through the pain which may have caused further injuries and what does he get? the entire team saying he should just play through the pain, which makes the fans think tmac is a puss. and that's he's done. and, oh yeah, he's being shopped behind his back. wont you be pissed if you found out that while youre probably busting your knee to the point that it's irrepairable, instead of supporting you, theyre shopping you? now let that sink in. what would you do? it may seem to you that tmac was unprofessional in making his decision on his own and not informing the rox before going to the media, but it's downright unprofessional for an org to shop your player and marketing him as not injured. that's what SAS is saying. tmac feels betrayed and he has every right to get mad.
Schaub had the same surgery as McLady & was playing in a NFL game within 4 weeks. People react differently to surgery but I believe that you can see where Tracy got the nickname McLady
O the Internet Doctors!!!!! time to move on. enough of T-Mac .. its too boring .. we have a new team now.. Yao at the helm.
