the organization went by what the doctors were telling them.. i don't think they would have a problem with him sitting out if the doctors thought he couldn't play... i just think there's a lot of miscommunication or lack of communication on both tmac and the organization's part.. more so on tmac's part in my opinion.. pretty sad it had to come out this way via big mouth SAS

Not in Houston. When you have the biggest sports fans on the radio call you a jackass, you're no longer welcomed.

Can we please refrain from posting anything "cheese doodle" has to say. He's not even respected as a reporter by most of his colleagues in his profession. Why should we care for anything he has to say?

    Lol Screaming A. Smith...

I guess this means they are moving to another city?

Lol Houston fans are tough, we've been dealing with choke teams since forever, the only thing that phase us is a team leaving the city.

Good Riddance to Tmac, I can't believe so many people still stick up for the guy.

We're in trouble ?? How about the fact that we have nothing but good, solid contracts (most ending in 2010). How about we'll have all the money to offer to other free agents ? How about the fact that be4 2010 we might have already resigned Yao and traded TMAC for another all star already?? I dunno, but where I'm lookin, it looks kinda not bad at all....Steve A Smith....what a dumbass

The organization was more than kind to Tmac. When he went off and made stupid comments and contradicted himself over and over and over they either issued no comment or tried to be as PC as possible. In most of other organizations he would have been called out by management or the coaching staff.

Then, Les basically gives McGrady the seal of approval in the media right before McGrady cuts the team out of the loop of communication regarding his decision to get surgery. I know Les was probably BSing but the point remains that he went out and made some very positive statements on the record.

If McGrady is mad who cares? He went to the best doctors in the world and got the same opinion over and over. What was the team supposed to do? Who were they supposed to believe? The experts or the guy known league wide by both players, owners and coaches as a loser who has a habit of quitting? Not to mention they guy contradicted himself every time he opened his mouth.

Rockets better hope he at least comes back and plays on a T-Mac type level (20-5-5) so they can trade and get some value from the trade. If they trade him in the off-season, it will be for a bag of peanuts.

yes he is but AGAIN tmac chose to leak info to him and he OBVIOUSLY discussed the why iam sure he did not tell his team first

SAS is irrelevant and sucks in general but his ONLY worth in this context is that he seems to be the only one in entire country who is "in" on tmacs antics

this is not tmac apologist thread either iam just passing on info i heard. man u guys are blinded by pure hatred for people that u cant even hear anything relevant they have to say. bin laden maybe a bad guy but that dont mean we are not listening when he says what he plans to attack next

try not to tune people out they may just have some relevant info that we can use

That is true, the organization basically said he had to work through it, but Tmac has been playing with this minor deal for a while now, and last year he was effective playing with it, the knee is the same.

The difference in all of this is that Tmac came into camp having not done the rehab, and fat and out of shape.

And then expected the organization to cover up for him, I don't blame them for saying...uh....no...

So, whatever, it is always someone else's fault and never Tracy's.

I can't wait until he is traded in the summer as nothing more than an expiring deal.

So T-mac is mad because the organization made him look bad in the public.

But yet his latest actions make him look even worse and it has reached nationally unlike the other stuff.

how did the organization "made him look bad in public"? if anything, the team has coddled him all along, maybe for too long.

Where? All I saw in the Chron was that Altcheck talked to Keith Jones and then McGrady said he was leaning toward getting microfracture. It doesn't sound like surgery was recommended but maybe mentioned as one possible remedy. That's the best Tracy can get with all the frequent flyer miles he has logged trying to get someone to give him a medical excuse to quit. Also, that doctor isn't even the one who would perform the procedure.

Do you know the name of the doctor who suggested microfracture surgery for Mcgrady. Please tell me it isn't Dr. Mcgrady himself.

If I am not mistaken: Dr. Clanton, Dr. Andrews, and Dr. Lowe all suggested playing and building up the muscles around the knees.

Can the Rockets block the surgery if there is no doctor that recommends the surgery?

PS there is a problem posting on your blog.

(It was in today's story: Dr. David Altchek. -- Jonathan)

no doctor recommends surgery unless there is a legit injury (missing cartilage).
