No way. It'd be like playing streetball and giving one team the first 5 picks. Fun for 2 seconds max.
Steven A. Smith still relevant? Didn't he get fired or something? Anyway, SAS can say whatever the hell he wants about his sources. If there's one thing I learned about journalism, it's that they just brush off all their mistakes under the rug like they never happened. If he's right, Smith can say how awesome he is, and rub it in people's faces for the rest of eternity. If he's wrong, he'll make sure never to mention it, and people will just forget it in 2 months.
So when LeBron ends up not going to Miami what happens to Steven A. Smith? Will he still have a job for leaking out crap just to go against the grain? Of course he will because the facts aren't as interesting as the what-ifs, and creating a fantasy gives the US demo something new to talk about. That's all they really want at the end of the day.
OK if those 2 go to Miami to play with Wade, are they gonna be able to afford any other players, this is just crazy, 3 player for max contract.
Lebron will sign with the NETS!! The Russian Billionaire will probably offer Lebron a bank account in Russia which the NBA can't trace to him. BOOK IT.
Miami has the cap space for this? Doesn't this mean their starting unit will be unstoppable and their bench will be absolute ****?
Stephen A was just bitter that he never really considered NY ultimately. It sounded like he just pulled this "news" out of his own ass, "backed up" by a so called "reliable" source. This is one of like 10 different versions of "breaking" news about Lebron's/Bosh's/Wade's destination. Its REEAAALLLLLY annoying.
You can probably insert Shaq at C. It shouldn't be too hard to find cheap vets going for a ring. They asked the same question in 08 when Boston gutted their team. It seemed to work out pretty well for them.
I just don't believe the Miami stuff with LeBron. I think it's a smokescreen so Chicago doesn't look like a done deal.
To be honest, I don't think Miami's projected Big 3 will have much success. Sure, all three are at least in top 15 players in the NBA. But guys, remember the Lakers team that had Bryant, O'Neal, Malone, and Payton? The team that LOST to the Pistons? Have some faith, guys.
While I, too, believe that they will still have to prove it on the court, comparing a lineup of 3 of the Top 15 players in the NBA IN THEIR RESPECTIVE PRIMES to a team that had 2 past-their-prime "superstars", one prima donna SG, and one prima donna center is a bad comparison.
Agree on you this. We're probably the only team that wants captain planet/voltron-defender of the universe to form up. Let Wade Lebron and Bosh all play in the same team. We'll happily take NY's picks
You bring up some good points. Wade and Lebron also strike me as two of the more unselfish superstars when it comes to dominating the ball. I think either player is more inclined to share the ball with capable teammates than a lot of people are giving them credit for.
All in the East. Leaves the West wide open, I'm down with that. Amare, Boozer, and Johnson should all team up together to form Spoiler
