I see the Kobe Bandwagon fans are out in full force. I'll take the team we have now thank you. And the people wanting to trade Francis and Mobley for Kobe or whatever, we'll see when this team matures and starts winning championships. I'll take a deep, and talented and athletic team over a one man show (Kobe Bryant), as good as Kobe is.

Just a question, are you a Laker fan? Asked this in the past but you never seem to answer....

Trading Mobley and Francis would give you two stars in Yao and Kobe which would not be just a one man show. Last several years the deep, talented, athletic teams like the Blazers, Kings, Mavericks championships = 0. Two star teams like the Bulls and Lakers championships = 9. Not that the Lakers would trade Kobe for Francis and Mobley anyway.

Kobe is reaching unique status right now in this 11 game stretch. The last player to equal that scoring run was Wilt Chamberlin. Jordan has NEVER been able to do what Kobe has done over the last 11 games.

I will pass on that. Kobe is not a team player. He is a Kobe player, meaning he is selfish and takes the game into his own hands only. This shows no respect/trust for his fellow teamates. 50pts a game, when a team scores 100. or less.....that is a heck of a lot from one guy. Kobe is for real, but he is also the kind of guy you dont like to play with because of his ball hogging...like Tmac. Except...lakers are winning.

The rest of the team are a bunch of role players and scrubs. He is their only offensive threat. I don't think he's being selfish, he's just carrying his team.

Kobe knows how to play with a bigman and when to
take over the game. And it's not his responsibility to
get teammates involved, however, his triple-doubles
mean with quality role players, he can be a very good
playmaker. Surrounding Kobe and Yao with role players
like MoT, Posey and some PG you are an instant
    contender.

Isn't this the point?? As much as I despise the Lakers, they absolutely get it done. I don't think Kobe's teammates see him as being selfish either but as the guy who actually gets them better shots, better endorsements, better groupies (all benefits of winning). Lakers win because their role players know that they're role players and they know who their stars are. Also, Kobe is ranked near the top ten in assists and leads the league in triple doubles.

    I love Franchise, but...

    I think not...

Yao is the reason we're thinking playoffs...

Without Yao, we'd be just like last season, waiting for the season to be over...

No. Steve Francis is NOT the best PG in the NBA. Everyone can get more assists if every player finishes every play.

With respect to Steve's game, I think that idiot Marbury is underrated and is better than Steve as a pg now.

Marbury averages 8+ assists per game.

Actually, he averages 8+ assists for his career!! Even though Marbaby is not a traditional pass-first PG, his selfishness has been a bit overblown. Nonetheless, I still think Stevie is a better PG. The assists are skewed because Marbaby has played in more pass-oriented offenses. Yikes...is Rudy really to blame?!?!

I agree with it to some extent. Marbury has no teammates to pass the ball to other than Marion and Stoudamire.

Marbury averages 8+ apg in everywhere he goes (Minny, NJ and Phoenix) so your argument that Marbury get more assists because he plays in more pass-oriented offense or he has better teammates doesn't hope much truth. Let's just face the fact, Marbury is just a flat-out more talented passer than Francis when he wants to. That doesn't mean that I want Marbury on my team over Francis because Marbury's attitude and character has major probem and at least Francis I believe (hope) is getting better.

    Wow!

This is indeed a ridiculous thread full of Steve-only fans. I am a rocket fan but the mere mention of Steve's name in the same sentence with Kobe's is an insult to Kobe and his family.

Moderators please lock this thread sofort.
