Francis should obviously get the nod over Brooks due to experience. Francis, however, is not in game shape at the moment but I think that as time progresses he will begin to be utilized more and more. It'll just take awhile for Adelman to make a decision due to his focus on trying to make the first and second groups run more efficiently. If Coach A thinks that Francis will serve a purpose in those groups then it will happen, it's just a matter of what he thinks is best. We just have to trust that. As far as Brooks goes, unless we are blowing a team out he won't see much time. Unfortunately, that's just how it is for a rookie who is drafted by a team with multiple proven point guards. I don't know if the rumors are legit about him going to the D-League, but I hope either way that he gets to play in some way, shape or form so that he can work on his game because I believe that he will eventually be a great asset for this team, just not right now.
Good experience or bad experience? Remember Cassell had no experience but his on court play in his rookie year showed poise, leadership, and the ability to make good decisions in PRESSURE MOMENTS. The regular season is fun and all, but I care about the post season. Steve has done bonehead stuff in the post season. See "over dribbling" vs the Lakers. Maybe I have blind faith in this kid Brooks, but I heard his reputation was that of a money player. Look at the analysis of his play in Vegas. Sounds like some Alien dude we go back in the day. http://www.draftexpress.com/viewprofile.php?p=332 No one may have proven more during this Summer League than Aaron Brooks. He showed the shot making ability and range of a seasoned NBA player. Brooks can punish opponents when left open, and was lights-out from three-point range all week. Brooks’ ability to hit the NBA three should fit in well next to Tracy McGrady should the two ever get the chance to play together. One thing that Brooks did show in Vegas was a propensity to take off balance shots from the perimeter. On the vast majority of his touches, Brooks either broke his man down off the dribble or shot the ball before his man could get a hand up.
There are way too many posts about our 12th man (Francis). Were people this riled up about Tree Rollins?
I agree with you with on seeing the potential in Brooks because I do as well. I was just saying that Adelman would most likely play over Brooks because of his experience in the NBA. Summer league is a good indicator of how well a player will adapt to the NBA but a player shouldn't be judged on just their performance during the summer. We all saw JL3's strong showing last summer and look where it got him, no disrespect to him. Until Brooks can prove himself on a professional stage I highly doubt that he will be given more opportunities than a 10 year veteran, regardless of the boneheaded plays. Again, this is just my opinion and it is ultimately up to Adelman to make the decision. I want to see Brooks succeed just as much as you do and I don't think he would be on this team if Morey didn't think he could contribute.
Way to bring up an old thread with a 1 word post. As for the players, apparently AB is starting to play well.
Recount??!! Steve is injured, but he struggled starting and in his games after the injury(probably a good reason he struggled). Aaron though, unbelievable
Dear self, you are right, all these suckers are wrong. thanks for exploiting who the the smart fans are from the Isiah Thomases.
