    Oski2500, "That's just plain stupid"

I never slam other people's posts. I disagree, but I don't call names or use insults, which is a little too safe and easy to do in this format. I try to imagine that I am in your living room and we are talking about the Rockets. That is how I will continue to conduct myself, please join me.

    Count me in.

Oski2500, you seem to get real emotional when you try to defend your boys.

Where did Oski insult anyone? He simply pointed out some stats that refuted the statement that Mobley doesnt get it.

It's the tone, and the emoticon, not the content.

Damn, grow up, people. Ya'll just read waaaaaaaay too much into this. I saw the interview. Steve's only problem was that Kenny and Charles seemed to forget he was there.

Steve didn't slam Yao. If he's saying Shaq is better than Yao, so what? Shaq has been preparing to pimp-slap Yao for months. No need to give the Big Larda$$ more fat to chew on.

And Steve did admit that "Me and Cuttino also like to have the ball in our hands, but we've been doing it that way for three years now and it hasn't been working, so we're trying to get the ball in to the big fella" (paraphrase).

Steve gave props to the fans for being nice enough to vote him in as an All-Star, it's an honor, bromide bromide.

Steve was just fine. He does need to hire an interview coach. He's finally gonna get the recognition he deserves, thanks in big part to Apocalypse Yao.

Otherwise, let's get off Steve's back, hmn?

Steve is a basketball player, he ain't running for President. Put the microscope away. Besides he probably showed up expecting a professional interview, not Kenny and Charles acting like self promoting morons and asking idiotic questions in between their scripted and calculated "spontanious banter". Chuck, stick to kissing donkey ass and leave the interviewing to professionals.

maybe we should have Steve get on his knees and kiss Yao's ass on TNT. I wonder if that would help cure some of the insecurities you guys have about their relationship...

I don't know about you, but I have never been offended or known any of my friends to be offended by somebody saying "That's just plain stupid."

Anyways, the fact that you said that Francis, who has spoken english his entire life, is harder to understand during interviews than Yao, who is chinese and still uses an interpreter, is basically a gross over exageration meant to be a put down. I think everybody here can agree that Francis speaks clearer english than Yao. So if you are gonna make jokes like that, don't get bent out of shape when somebody calls you out for it.

First, it was a good interview, even if it was too short. They covered relevant questions, like how Steve felt about the all-star game and Yao being a starter, the upcoming Yao-Shaq match-up, the adjustment from Steve-Cat ball to Yao-ball.
Second, can someone tell me where that video came from at the end of Steve going up against Kenny Smith? That was cool, and it's cool stuff like that that helps make the TNT halftime show a notch above the rest.

Stevie Francis is the John The Baptist of this team in reference to carrying the torch for Yao Ming. His job is to stand/sit in front of bright lights and cameras - whenever - and answer every damn question about Yao Ming. No matter how he feels - tired or warn out, it does not matter he needs to answer EVERY question about Yao Ming posed to him.

Anyway I do not have a problem with the interview. Let Yao do the talking for himself on the court.

Oh btw, Yao Ming is not just a team mate (or co-worker) he is sort of like the "Messiah". Heck from now on I want to see/hear EVERY damn Rocket (including their family members) talk about Yao Ming in every interview even when the question is not related to Yao Ming:

    E.g

Cheryl Miller: So Cutino, how did you manage to keep Kobe under 5 points in the first half?

Cutino: Well Yao Ming has adjusted very well since stepping into town just a few months ago. He has acquited himself in the first half against Shaq. What an awesome performance.

    Cheryl Miller: Hmmmmmm........(pause......confused...)...

Cheryl Miller: Whatever........Talking about awesome performance, you and Steve combined very well in the first half. That Alley Hoop from half court was awesome. Did he give you any signal? You made Kobe look stupid, how did you know such a pass was coming?

Cutino: Where can I begin from? There are so many to choose from and I don't know which ones to choose (Cheryl looks even more baffled) but that over the head pass to Moochie (against Indiana I believe) is tops for me. Followed closely by the slap pass to the wing player, Francis, against Sacramento ON NATIONAL TV. Wow! Yao Ming is da bombzzzy. Stay turned America.

Now this is how every interview of every Rocket should look like folks. Nuff said.

I feel the same way, I just think some people just took the comment a negative way.

Man, some of you guys are really paranoid. Seriously, Fegwu and Texas Stoke, I don't see how you guys can infer what you have inferred.

Francis gave a great interview. Some of you ppl need to chill out. What the hell did he said wrong?? If it was a Yao vs Shaq battle we'd loose period, Yao is great and is going to be the best C in four years but come on, 1 on 1 Shaq will destroy him, literally and metaphorically. It's a team game, Yao gets it, Steve and Mobes are starting to get it, but the damn bandwagon fans that been demanding the team game for month's doesn't seems to get it.

OSKI2005, I think you missed the point Solid was making. It is about civility between posters. I think he was right. We can disagree but I am against "poster rudeness," and you were rude. As to the pampered millionaire players and teams, they are public domain. But even then, there are limits. I hate the "fill in the blank" "sucks" posts.:)

Thank you! I was just about to type the same thing, but I'm glad I read your post.
It has to be just a little frustrating for Steve. I mean, the media proclaimed him as being "Stevie Franchise" and all that, and now they're trying to make it look like he's a selfish "me-first" player or something. People have been TRYING to start a rivalry or something between Steve and Yao, and the two are getting along great which probably makes people mad. Just get off Steve's back and let him be. If you want to talk about Yao, call Yao, don't drag Steve down there to talk about someone else.

Shouldn't we all expect equal treatment? That is, if it is ok to degrade the players, shouldn't we be able to take what we dish out as it were? This is a public place, though most of us don't really know eachother, but this is still a public place and none of us should be exempt from the kind of treatment we give the players, celebs, and politicians we speak about in here.

As for civility, I never called Solid stupid, I just said that his statement was and I will stand by what I said.
